2094.0. "LOOKING FOR A PSYCHIC" by NIOSS1::LEPAGE (DTN 285-3196) Fri Jan 05 1996 15:54

My friend and I are looking for a psychic in the
southern N.H. area. We would like to go this weekend
if possible. We are willing to go as far as the
Salem, MA area (I'm in Salem NH and can easily get
on the highway). We have been unable to get in touch
    with Richard Greene in Nashua.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Denise

Denise, I recommend Rita Overhulser. She is at Illuminations Bookstore
in Weatford, Ma. She's there on Thursdays. She can also be reached by
phone at (508) 453-7451. This is if you want a private appointment. I
do recommend seeing her at Illuminations, if only for the peaceful
relaxed energy in this store. Illuminations number is (508) 486-4268.
They are located on rt 110 about halfway between the Digital LKG plant
and Kimball's Ice Cream. Anne Butz is a former Deccie and a wonderful
    person.

I had Rita read for me several months ago. The day before, I had spent
with a friend. We had shared a hug when we parted. Rita was able to
pick up on my friend's concerns for her son. She was able to locate the
state he lived in, (across the country) his first name, with
absolutely no prompting from me. In fact, I was drawing a blank on the
whole thing, as nothing seemed to pertain to me. She also picked up on
the need for this woman to finish a writing project that she has been
    trying to do for years.

Needless to say, I was floored by all this. I had expected some
generalities about my life and current situations. She got little about
me and everything about my friend. She used a meditation relaxation
technique where we joined hands and then took my keys and read through
psychometry. She also does Tarot, Past-life, MariEL healing, and Ro-Hun
cards. Those last two, I have never heard of before, so I can't expound
    on them.

Disclaimer: I get no money or other compensation from Rita, Anne, or
Illuminations Bookstore for this recommendation. I just like the place
and believe that Rita is gifted.

    Bright Blessings,

2094.2another vote for Rita OverhulserBOBSBX::RAMSAYTue Jan 09 1996 13:5110
A second vote for Rita Overhulser, whom I have recommended elsewhere in
    this file.

Personally, I prefer private readings at Rita's home. That way, there
usually is no one waiting for their appointment, giving Rita lots of
free time to continue on if I ask her to. I highly recommend audio
taping your session because she gives you so much information. I
continue to listen and relisten to mine and always discover something
    new to work on.

    Hi Denise,

Why do you have to look for a psychic ? Surely a psychic knows you are
looking for them and would approach you and not the other way around !!

I am a true psychic I knew you were looking for one and I replied :-).

    Regards,

    Sunil

    Hello,

I too have been looking for a true psychic, but no one has approached
    me.

I actually called a psychic line this past weekend only to be truly
disappointed. I expect a true psychic to be able to tell me what I
want to know not ask me what I want to know.

I hope someone can help me.

    Sincerely,

    Marianne

This reminds me of an experience when I was 16 or 17. I was
hanging out at my friend's house and her parents had some
visitors that day. After I got home, my friend called and said
this friend/distant relative of her mom wanted to talk to me.
This lady was in her 50+ and we had no clue why she asked to
see me. I was curious, so I went out to lunch with this
lady and my friend - it was summer vacation, so what the heck
and she was paying ;-) After lunch, she started telling me all
these things about the fights with my father, me, my future, etc.
Now, my friend swore that she never told the lady anything about
me. I have known my friend since 2nd grade, I believe her. This
lady told me she *HAD* to tell me those things. She told us she
was the keeper of "Sky Book" - which I now know meant she could
read people's life from their features/palms/etc. She said though
she had ability to read, she could not tell people things that
would lead people to change the future. Thus, she was the keeper.
She was right on for all the things that have happened so far.
She was not specific with events or dates, but she had to be psychic
to be so accurate, since I was not main stream or average. There is
still one item left that I haven't been able to account for. Well,
I am only in my 30's, so I still have a bunch of years left to wait
and see. But, what puzzles me more than this one last item was "Why
did she have to talk to ME?" Apparently, she hasn't talked to any
other of our friends. She was not a professional and she didn't take
money. Maybe, she thought she could help me by telling some things?!
I would like to find a true psychic to explain that to me!

    re .5

Eva, what a marvelous story! What exactly do you mean when you say you
were not "main stream or average"? The answer could also be the answer
to "why did she have to talk to ME"!
2094.7WMOIS::CONNELLStory does that to us.Mon Jan 15 1996 17:549
Eva, the woman had to talk to you, because she HAD to talk to you. She
probably felt "compelled" to do so and it wouldn't let go until she had
talked to you. I'm intrigued by her calling herself a "Keeper of the
Skybook". Sounds like she may be able to tap into the Akashic Records.

    re. .6 and .7

I think that my life experiences were not main stream or average
such that this woman could have "guessed" them correctly. I came
from a culture where parents expect (almost) absolute obedience.
I used to have fights with my father that could put me on Ophra!
Nobody I knew fought with anyone like that. She told me about the
fights. I was very stubborn/determined, very assertive, one
track-minded, can be aggressive and totally unladylike when
aggravated; not expected from a upper-middle class Chinese girl
who was brought up to be a lady (read woman of leisure in this case)!
She picked that one up. In short, I was nowhere near what I was
supposed to be. So, from the outside, people get the wrong idea of
who I am, all the time. This woman could not have been a fake.

In the Chinese legends, there is a book call the "Sky Book", it
contains the life history of all the mortals in the world. And yes,
there are immortals, of course. Somehow this book is guarded by a
special person, the keeper, and the book is passed down from
generation to generation. When I was young, I thought it was
literally a book, like a magical book. But now, I come to understand
that to mean the life history of all people written in a form that
is accessible to only a few, maybe true psychics and readers?

    Eva
2094.9BOBSBX::RAMSAYMon Jan 15 1996 19:533
Fascinating, Eva! Yes, as PJ pointed out, that must be what we know as
the Akashic Records. Edgar Cayce was able to access those records
during his trances and find ways to heal sick people.
2094.10WMOIS::CONNELLStory does that to us.Mon Jan 15 1996 20:1745
It seems that the Chinese Sky Book is basically the same as the Akashic
Records. "A rose by any other name". This woman could tap into it and
somehow she knew that one name for this font of information was Sky
Book. This is what she has come to call her knowledge.

While I haven't been given knowledge of others, (Except on very rare
occasions), I have been given personal knowledge through dreams where I
"go to school". I'm literally in a classroom and have teachers and
students around me, all of whom I learn from. Some are human appearing
    and some aren't.

There are fictional characters that also seem to have a "Sky Book". One
that comes to mind is Destiny. Destiny is a character in DC comics.
He's been around since the 60's when he was used as a host for one of
their horror comics. Neil Gaiman appropriated him as a member of a
family known as the Endless. They are Dream, Destiny, Death,
Destruction, Delirium, Desire, and Despair. They actually are these
things as perceived by beings. Humans see them as human and mostly we
read about them as the Greek myth versions. (With lots of other stuff
    thrown in)

Anyway, Destiny is shown as a very tall man wearing a hooded robe. We
never see his face. He also has a book chained to one wrist. This book
contains everything that has ever happened and if you were to see this
book, you would see a page containing you seeing that page and saying
whatever you were saying. Of course the book is much bigger then it can
be drawn. It contains everything. When the universe is over, Destiny
will reach the last page and then close the book. His sister, Death,
will come to claim him as the next to the last thing she needs to do.
The last thing is that she'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out
the lights, and lock the universe behind her as she leaves.

Destiny's home is a beautiful garden full of shrubbery and statuary.
The statues change as we change. They are everyone. Were we to enter
Destiny's garden, we would see a multitude of paths laid out before us,
but if we walked a ways and then turned to look behind us, we would
only see one long straight path stretching out back the way we had
come. The multitudinous paths are our choices to make and the straight
ones are the ones we have made.

    Just another viewpoint.

    Bright Blessings,

    PJ

Wow, this is very interesting. So, there are some individuals who
are gifted or trained and can access this information. I sure hope
that these individuals are good natured!

But back to my question - what compelled her to tell me anything?
Given that she was good natured, since she didn't asking anything
in return. Am I supposed to do something with the info she gave
me? Like what? I have been to one psychic, but she couldn't tell
me anything more (I didn't ask that specificly)! Maybe I am not
supposed to know until the right time!

    Eva
2094.12WMOIS::CONNELLStory does that to us.Mon Jan 15 1996 21:3233
Eva, I can't tell you what (or who) compelled her to tell you the info.
She just HAD to do so. I have seen some of those TV preachers say that
someone, somewhere was having a particular illness or pain. They "knew"
this because they had a pain in whatever body part was the problem.
They claim that God is putting a "word of knowledge" into them. THey
are never specific about who is suffering and rarely specific about the
illness. Just that someone, somewhere had better call the number and
pray with the operator, and find Jesus, and send lots of money.

This is probably similar, except that she wanted no money and knew who
you were. It was a driving compulsion by whoever runs the whole shebang
or her/his subordinates to seek you out and impart the information.
What you choose to do with it is up to you. As for her claim in your
original reply, that what she says will not change the future, I can't
buy that. It's like insider trading, :-). You have knowledge and can
act upon it. If she said you'll be in a plane crash, then you reduce
the odds by limiting airtime and time near airports or if you're really
paranoid, known flight paths. If she said that you would reconcile with
your father, then you would do what you could to cause this to happen.
Probably after some soulsearching and maybe even balking at the
thought. Point is that now that you have knowledge, the game has been
changed for you. No longer do you go blindly down the garden path
choosing a single path. You can see more possibilities and make more
informed choices. Even if what she said didn't come to pass completely,
you might see how certain choices not made would have led to her
predicted outcome. You just didn't want that outcome.

Your life, once it's given to you, is up to you. But then you know all
    this. :-)

    Bright Blessings,

Now I see my life as a coice of garden paths,
and me, a statue, wondering what life hath!
To go left or right, amongst the shubbery,
    	and looking back...seeing life's discovery!
No wonder I feel like a garderer oftimes,
My life needs pruning, weeding, water and lime!
If life is a garden of earthly delights,
Then, I, am a mushroom kept out of the light!
    	I'm kept in the dark,

I believe that we are all "true" psychics. Some of us have developed
the talent or never let it go in the first place.

Even a "true" psychic cannot foretell the future exactly, what they can
tell you are the events likely to occur if all things happening now
    remain the same.

To me, the future is not cast in stone. Choices (like Pj's garden
    paths) are always available.

I like to get feedback from the people I read for so I can keep a log
of accuracy. I am not 100%. I have not met the person that is ... yet.

A "true" psychic will always ask questions. It is not to get answers
necessarily, but to help ascertain paths you currently travel. Most
clients come in with all sorts of energies (positive and negative) and
thousands of questions. It takes a few questions to determine what,
exactly, the client is truely interested in. Most readings are for 30
minutes to an hour, some longer, some shorter. It is not easy to tap
into someone, find out everything about them in this life, past lives,
etc and answer everything they want to know. Questions gives a bit of
    direction.

For people who do this professionally, usually appointments are set. In
between readings, a "true" psychic has to realign himself/herself after
each reading and take time to recharge whatever tools he/she uses
whether it is cards, runes, dousing rods, etc. That is the main reason
I do not read at Psychic Fairs any longer or for Partys. I need the
time to clear after each client.

    i vote for S.S.'s viewpoint - .15 .
anyone can access sky book. it seems most people, though, would rather
    manicure the lawn.
i'm not sure i understand how an "un-true" psychic can tell a true one
    from an un-true one.
i agree that "what you see isn't what you get" regarding tv psychic
hotlines. if they could at least have it so that what they saw was
    what you got...
