         Some highlights of SETH SPEAKS ON CRYSTALS
    
    SETH: We love to speak of crystals. The molecular configuration
    of crystals is the basic molecular configuration of your uni-
    verse. so the crystal QUARTS CRYSTAL represents a basic component
    of matter and as a result is a powerful generator of energy. When
    used properly, it is a powerful tool for raising consciousness,
    creating change in belief structures, storing infomation and for
    attracting energy.  It is a very powerful vehicle for change.
         Understand that in times past crystals were utilized as generators
    of energy in cultures such as the Atlantean and the late Lemurian.
    When your planet becomes responsible enouth to utilize crystal energy
    again, crystals will become the principle source of energy on the
    planet. The storage capacity of the crystalline structure is
    mathematically much greater than the size of the crystal.
         The clear quartz crystal is a very refined energy, very absorbent
    and also very capable of transmitting energy. the clearer the quartz,
    the better.  you have not yet found the very fine strains of quartz
    which exist upon the planet.
         Some of the finest strains of quartz crystal are actually in
    the granite in New England. they won't be found until you have
    developed sufficient responsibility to use them.  This is the same
    quartz that was utilized in old Atlantis because this area was once
    a part of that continent. This quartz is still unavailable for you
    because it's so capable of generating energy that you could literally
    blow yourselves up with it very quickly.
         Know that the areas where you find the milky quartz are always
    near areas where much further down in the earth's core you have
    the clear quartz.  You certainly won't be digging down that far,
    but natural changes may bring the quartz to light.

        I don't pretend to know a whole lot but I have read a couple
    of Seth books.  Seth came through (channeled by) Jane Roberts
    sometime in the late 60's.  As such, he(she) is one of the first
    of the channeled entities of the last two decades, at least to the
    extent of being popular.  Seth "grew" or evolved throughout the
    time he spent with Jane.  Towards the later years, there were
    "two" Seths (actually both the same, just on different levels of
    "evolution.")  Seth appeared to be highly evolved (by our standards,
    I think) and had had human incarnations in our "past.' Jane used
    to have groups meeting in her house (which I think was either in
    NYC or Philadelphia) usually of not more than about 20-30 people.
    Seth would channel through and a great deal of question/answering
    would take place.  The group also spent a great deal of time
    working on "psychic phenomena" experiments, testing this and that,
    etc.  Through Jane and her husband, a great deal of information
    was amassed and subsequently, several books were published concerning
    that information.  Jane died about two years ago, I think, and I
    believe she was not yet 60 years old when she died.  Personally,
    I do not feel that anyone else's claim to be channeling Seth is
    valid, for I feel that Seth was growing beyond/past/away from
    whatever "needs" he had to do so (I stand to be corrected, however.)
    According to Lazaris, he has said that he has respected Seth very
    much for what he has done for us...additionally, I have heard
    (indirectly) that Seth (Seth 1) was coming to us from the
    Mental plane (physical, astral, causal, mental---all of which
    deal with the physical plane---beyond which there are infinite planes
    or levels) and that is the same level as Buddha, Christ, and the
    "Gods" of our religion.  This information comes indirectly to me
    (from a Lazaris "follower" I know.)
     Anyway, I have found much of Seth's stuff interesting and informative,
    although it is sometimes heavy or tedious to me.  In my own
    capsulization, there you have it!

    I'll give you what I remember off the top of my head.
    
    In the late 60's Jane Roberts and Robert Butts we living in Elmira
    New York. Robert was employed by a greeting card company and I think
    Jane was unemployed or a part time writer.
    
    Jane and Robert decided to do some research on their own to support a
    book about developing ones psychic powers. One of the items they
    experimented with was the Ouija Board. Their first contact was with the
    spiritual equivilent of an uneducated and unexpressive person. During
    the second or third session the entity was butted out and Seth arrived.
    Seth was much more expressive and articulate in his communications with
    Jane and Robert. As the number of sessions increased Jane became aware
    that she was subvocalizing the messages from Seth. In short she had the
    words in her mind as they were being spelled out on the board. From
    this Jane, with some trepidition, began to channel Seth without
    the assistance of the board.
    
    Seth claimed to be human several times but nothing could be proved. The
    two versions of Seth evidently account for two different evolutional
    time frames of the Seth entity. Seth II was so different from human
    that it could only communicate with Jane with great difficulty. Seth II
    described itself as someting like at hazelnut or hickory nut in size
    and living very far away, possible in the far distant future. 
                                                                 
    Seth I was channelled for about 2 years in a thursday nite group.
    A book has been written about these sessions called "Conversations
    with SETH". On Wensday nights Seth I was channeled privately by
    Jane while Robert Butts took written notes of the sessions. Hundreds
    of sessions took place and the last I read was that some 6000 pages
    of notes were taken.
    
    Seth talked about many different and controversal subjects. Among
    my favorites are alternate realities, parallel realities, sibling
    entities, the nature of reincarnation, various families of spiritual
    entities and their purposes in the known and unknown realities,
    the extreme importance of how belief systems affect the individual,
    writing and erasing personal histories, afterlife existence and
    how to create an afterlife place and many other things.
    
    Seth was tricky but honest. He told Jane and Rob many times that
    he would tell them something that would disturb them just to get
    them thinking past their everyday reality.
                                                   
    Jane channeled Seth a few times on radio and possibly even TV. I
    have also heard of a SETH video cassette but haven't seen it.
    
    Bob quit his job at the card company and took up painting. Jane
    evidently could support them both on her royalties. They eventualy
    moved from Elmyra to someother nearby town and bought a house. Jane
    came down with some degenerative disease and was not able to overcome
    it even with SETHs help. She died a couple years ago. Rob is still
    around but I don't know what he is doing. 
    
    In the "God of Jane" and other books Jane tried to define what Seth was
    to her but it didn't come out the way her friends and followers wanted
    it. She basicly stated that Seth was a quorum of mental entities that
    made up here psyche. In other words Seth was not one entity but the
    combination of many different past life entities. In normal
    consciousness _Jane_ was the quorum but at other times _Seth_ was the
    present quorum.
    
    Many different books were written by Jane and Rob and a very few
    others were authorized by them. The continuing saga of Seths are
    copy cats since Jane stated that Seth was a quorum that represented
    her altered states of consciousness.
    
    The Seth materials got me to open my mind up to alternate existences
    and states of consciousness.  It can be very heavy reading. For
    a few months I would read a paragraph and go think about it for
    about 20 mins., then return to repeat the process for the next
    paragraph.  
        
    Seth is a good starting point for one to begin their psychic
    development because Jane and Rob documented their progress very,
    very well.  They described their fears and hopes and all the weird
    happenings that went on, sometimes in too much detail.
    
    Seth refered to Jane as Rupert. I think Seth refered to Rob as Joseph.

    Mike, didn't Jane write several earlier books before
    she became 'aware' of Seth?  I seem to recall that
    The Education of Oversoul 7, and The Further Education
    of Oversoul 7 'came' to her in dreams, and she wrote
    them before becoming conscious of Seth and tackling
    Seth Speaks....at any rate, the Oversoul 7 books are
    highly recommended before jumping into the actual
    Seth books....the Oversoul books are written as fic-
    tion (although I believe have their basis in 'fact')
    and are much lighter reading.  
    
    Come to think of it....Richard Bach started with fiction/
    fantasy/light reading and progressed to very serious works...
    
    

    Jane Roberts did indeed write several books before becoming "aware"
    of Seth.  Oversoul 7 was one, and I believe she has some published
    poetry?  She had a period of 'writers block' (I think, I am speaking
    from memory) and got the idea to write a book on ESP.  It was titled
    'How to Develop Your ESP' or something like that.  During her research
    from this book, as stated in a previous note, she experimented with
    a Ouja (sp?) board which was how she originally contacted Seth.

          This past weekend I rented a videotape on Seth.  As it
    turns out, this is the only visual record of Jane Roberts/Seth
    and was filmed (in black and white...very poorly, I might add) in
    1974.  The video tape was produced in 1986.  It offers about
    a 30 minute interview with Jane and her husband and then shows 
    Seth while channeled.  During the interview Jane talks about
    her original interests and how Seth came through (as -.1 stated,
    by the way.)  
           My personal comments?  I enjoyed reading some of the things
    Seth said (according to a couple of SEth books I read several 
    years ago) but found listening to him much more difficult.
    For me listening to Seth was comparable almost to listening 
    to St. Germaine (on the set of tapes I have heard) or, to
    some degree, listening to Ramtha.  There was a great deal of
    "forcefulness" on Seth's part in his speech.  For me, it makes
    me appreciate Lazaris and his gentle (although accented) delivery
    that much more.

    I saw the Seth Video at the end of last year. Before, I only once watched
    a channeling, so I was very impressed (especially as Seth
    additionally seemed to have a good sense of humor). The only thing
    that disturbed me very much was the interviewer who really tried my 
    patience.
    
    After having seen the video , I read some books from Jane Roberts.
    Some topics are really heavy stuff, but I think Seth gives also
    some good exercises with which you can practice in your daily life.

    a friend...and never got it back (what's the opposite of a 
    boomerang?  ;-)  )  Anyway, I have seen copies of I & II in
