352.0. "AN ISLAND IN TIME(body/dreamwork)" by SALES::RFI86 () Thu Apr 30 1987 17:18

                          AN ISLAND IN TIME
                      A Weekend at Sea Pastures
                          3 to 6 July 1987

Sea Pastures, a vacation home belonging to hte Jenny family, is
located on the island of Vinalhaven, Maine. There are two houses
on the 14-acre peninsula known as Arey's Neck. This secluded spot
looks out accross the Penobscot bay to Isle a Haut. Flower filled
meadows, tidal flat, rockbound coast with pools and evergreen woods
make this a haven for a great variety of wildlife on land and sea.

For a few years now, we have delighted in vacation weeks here and
as we have come to know and love the place, a desire has grown in
us to spend a weekend sharing its beauty and leading a retreat at
which our particular modes of professional work could be offered
together. We find the setting to be ideal for exploring inner space
    through body work and dreamwork.

    			         FRIDAY

You will arrive at Vinalhaven on the ferry boat that leaves Rockland,
Maine at 1 pm. We will meet you at the ferry and bring you to Sea
Pastures in time to settle in and explore the outer space of Arey's
Neck before dinner. After dinner we will have a time of story and
relaxation exercises to prepare for a night of dreaming.

    			     SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

To allow time for recording dreams as well as for morning walks,
runs, or meditation, we will gather at 10 a.m. for a two hour brunch
    of dream sharing time.

Afternoons are scheduled to allow each participant to have an hour's
private session with each of us seperately, for body work with Bob,
and dreamwork with Clare. Evening time are planned for social time
over a relaxed dinner followed by preparation for dreaming led by
    Bob.

    				   MONDAY

Our last morning together begins with dream sharing and summing
up over breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30. This leaves a comfortable
time for departure by 10:50 to catch the 11:20 ferry back to the
    mainland.

     			         THE LEADERS
    			      Clare & Bob Keller

Clare has pursued an interest in Jungian (analytical) psychology
for 22 years through study and a long personal analysis followed
by a year of body therapy. She has been in private practice as a
counsellor and dream group leader for 12 years. She has served on
the board of trustees for the C.G. Jung Foundation in New York.
Clare is especially interested in the overlapping areas of Christian
belief, depth psychology, mythology, and folklore.

Bob has also been involved with Jungian psychology since the 1960's
through study, personal analysis, and applying its principles to
his own counselling practice. In addition he has been trained in
the Feldenkrais school of body work and now maintains a part-time
practice which combines body awareness with attention to dreams.
He is particularly interested in the perception and organization
of energy patterns in the body, and in their relationship to the
physical and spiritual experiences of daily life.

For 12 years, Clare and Bob led The Round Table Associates (RTA),
a Jungian study group in the Delaware Valley. Seperately and together
they have led numerous workshops and conferences for the RTA, for
Pendle Hill, and for the Friends Conference on Religion and Psychology.
Although practicing Episcopalians, they are both active members
of the executive committee of the Friends Conference.

< Note 352.0 by SALES::RFI86 >

I have set this note hidden until I can confer with Dave Stanley
(the other moderator) as the note had the appearance of improper use
of DEC assets as it was apparently soliciting for a business.
Furthermore, the author has not made him or herself known to the
participants in this conference and therefore may not even be a
    DEC employee.

If possible, will the author of note 352.0 (SALES::RFI86) please
contact me by VAXmail at MOORED::GERSTLE to discuss the issue.

The poster of the base note sent me mail asking my permission. I'm sorry
that I didn't respond here earlier as I was out yesterday afternoon. I think
that the base note is appropriate for this conference.

I have talked with Carl Gerstle and told him that the poster of .0 is a
good friend of mine and that he was bringing something of interest to DEJAVU
readers. I will unhide .0 and have Geoff (SLSCOM::RFI86) post a response
here with more info.

352.5Sorry about all the HububCSWVAX::RFI86Fri May 01 1987 14:4523
    Hello,
I'm sorry about all the hubub I caused. I can see the concern
as this note came from a public account and does look like an
advertisement. The people who are putting on this retreat are my
parents and as the note sais they have been involved in dream and
body work as an alternative method of healing for many years. My
judgement is probably biased but I find them to be very good people.
I thought that some of the people in this note file might have an
interest in this retreat as a way of becoming more in touch with
what their bodies and minds are telling them when they dream or
when certain parts of the body don't feel right. As I understand
it the Feldenkrais method of body work is a form of accupressure
but for a more accurate and complete explaination you would have
to speak with my father, Bob.

Again I'm sorry about all the concern I caused and I hope this will
put people more at ease. If you have any problems please feel free
    to contact me.
    						Sincerely;

    						Geoffrey H. Keller

I have taken Clare's Dream Workshops. She gives 6-session workshops,
beginning and advanced levels, with a limit of four people in the
group, usually meeting once a week for 2 hours.

...and the workshops are excellent. I can compare them to graduate
work and other workshops I have taken. And I really have received
the most value from Clare's workshops. She is a competent, intuitive
and knowledgeable teacher with a gift for leading.
