2059.0. "Crystal Balls" by UBOHUB::LUNNS () Wed Jul 12 1995 10:04

I was wondering if any noter has information concerning Crystal Balls.

Its ironic really, if I had one then I wouldn't need to add this note?

    Look forward to your contributions

    Re.0 and .4

Agreed...however since the moderator is basically lax and lazy...(;^)
...we can keep the continuation of this topic here since it's already
    gotten some replies.

In the future though, please do check to see if topics already exist
before creating new ones. The command to search for old ones is:
DIR/TITLE=crystal (for example, where 'crystal' can be substituted for
    whatever you are looking for).

I asked my divining pendulum a series of questions and it told me
that you'd make that moderating decision, Cindy. ;>)!! BillM

    re .0

i'm certain you don't need them to do and learn what you wish. they
may be nice to have, though, as an inspiration or reminder...

Hi, I'm not sure of what kind of information you were looking
for, but here's some assorted info...

I recall reading that "handmade" crystal balls were made by chipping
the basic shape, then polishing with Hematite for the final finish,
and that today they are mostly mass produced by similar methods.

Then there is the art of crystal gazing. One reading mentioned
using a black velvet tablelcloth, with 7 candles arranged behind
the ball. Gazing into the ball creates the optic nerve to
become paralyzed to external stimuli and perceives stimuli
from the brain; images may be seen.

**It does warn that you should start with 5 minutes and NEVER go
past 30 minutes because you could have temporary vision loss.
Also, watery eyes mean you have been gazing too long.**

Personally, I have a wonderful natural (naturally formed as yellow,
not the kind commonly sold as such; which is amethyst, naturally
"baked" and turned yellow) Citrine crystal ball about 4-5"
that I just look at, turning this way and that. I have enjoyed
the images and thoughts which I received, without any 'formal'
    	process.
