1821.0. "Any recommended spiritual places?" by CCAD30::LILBURNE (new adventures imminent) Sun Mar 21 1993 02:58

I didn't participate in this conference nearly as much as I intended though
I have been an avid reader. It's a difficult one to contribute to when one's
beliefs or feelings are new and very shakey! My loss. However many of the
previous topics have been so interesting. I didn't even get half way through
them all. There is so much wisdom there I hope it will not be lost in the
future. Interesting to see how the flavour has changed over the years - less
supportive now, more polarity in the discussions...

Anyway that is not the purpose of this note. I will be leaving Digital in a
couple of weeks and heading for the Pacific, after which I have the idea that
some time spent in the USA would be of great benefit. Do any of you have any
suggestions of places that have the sort of strong energies that even
insensitives like me can feel ;-) Or particularly spiritual places? I have
been wondering about Utah and Arizona. Also a place called Sedona has
cropped up in conversation a few times this last month. Do any of you know it?
All suggestions (or pointers) welcome (for anywhere in the States).

Thanks
Linda

    Hi Linda,

Definitely go to Sedona. The scenery alone there will uplift you.
There are maps and even tours available of the 'power spots'. I
was there 3-4 years ago...was staying with my brother who lived in
Phoenix then, and we drove to Sedona as a day trip.

Good luck on your new journey!

Another place you'd probably like to visit in the West is Esalen
Institute. It is located in Big Sur,California, about 150 miles South
of San Francisco, 287 miles North of Los Angeles on a very beautiful
coastal bluff over the Pacific. Call ahead at (408) 667-3000.

Sedona is the place to go. I just got back from there. There
are at least 5 vortex areas the native americans claim have
psychic energies. Great scenery and hiking too. Bring your
canteen and a good pair of hiking boots.

I second the motion on Sedona, since I just returned from there myself.
You may want to get a map that says where the vortexes are. There are
several shops in town that deal with the energy spots in the area,
    which are many
