1785.0. "Centers of spiritual energy in England" by UHUH::REINKE (Formerly Flaherty) Tue Jan 19 1993 15:52

My husband and I will be traveling to England next month to visit
spiritual sites/energy centers. We have mapped out an itinerary
partly based on a couple of books. One is The Traveler's Guide to
Sacred England by John Mitchell and the other I think is entitled
"Serpent and the Sun"(?) by Paul Devereux and Ian Thompson. The
latter is a very interesting book about the St. Michael and Mary ley
lines. Curiously enough many of the sites are situated directly on
these lines.

I was hoping our participants from Great Britain or others who have
visited some of these places might offer their experience or
suggestions of *points* of interest not to miss. Naturally, we intend
to visit Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Avebury, Land's End, and Tintagel,
but also lesser known places like St. Keyne's Well and Duloe's Stone
Circle.

Thanks,

Ro

    Ro,

You might like to try VAXCAT::GB92, the current Great Britain
conference. There's also an old one on-line, VAXCAT::GREAT_BRITAIN. The
latter contains a lot of information the former doesn't, and is
    extremely large.

    Laurie.

Thank you Laurie. I'll add those to my notebook and check them out.

I will also be travelling to England with Ro and her husband. I'm
so excited about this trip. I've longed to visit some of these
wonderful places and didn't think the opportunity would ever arise.
Everything has come together to make this possible.

    Yay!!!!!!!!!

1785.5Vedant Centre at Bourne EndREPROT::NAIKGMan with the Eastern CharmFri Jan 29 1993 14:536
There is an Indian spiritual centre, 15 miles from Reading. It is called the
Vedanta Centre, and is situated at Bourne End. I go there often to meditate
and have taken many of my friends over there. This centre is a shrine in the
memory of Ramkrishna Paramhans and Swami Vivekanand.

We're coming baaack......we'll be attending the 3rd Earth Conference
in England at the end of July. The draw for us is that many of our
long time favorite authors will be presenters at the conference and
the tour includes an after hours ceremony in the inner circle of
Stonehenge (which normally is off limits to the public) and a musical
event with the Tibetean Monks and Buffy St. Marie at Avebury.

Can't wait...
