In a word, "Yes."
It depends on the source, I imagine. But most of the channeled
entities I am aware of allow for the fact that we create our own
reality and therefore are capable of making changes.
If you see our reality as being a massively complex network
of threads (each representing a separate belief or emotion) forming
a particular reality (tapestry) then it is easier to envision that
where there is a knot might be a place where a whole bunch of these
threads intersect. IF that intersection represents a (future) event
it's likelihood of staying tangled depends on how many other threads
have to be moved out of the way. In the case of predicting a future
event, how many beliefs and/or emotions have to be changed in order
to prevent the "collision course?" How strongly held are those
beliefs/feelings? If they can be eliminated, by whatever means,
then the event will no longer become a likely one, or it's significance
will be greatly diminished.
If any channeled being would say otherwise then I would very
seriously consider de-valuing their worth.

::USHER,
Whenever the human element is present there is the
chance of ones own stuff getting in the way. My perspective (I.M.H.O.)
is that even the entity that finds a channel has its own stuff and it
may too get in the way.
To your other point: I believe the future is always mutable- right
up to the last infitesimal fraction of a moment of the present- by
virtue of my own stuff.
Later,
