1500.0. "Looking for info on Crowleyan symbolism" by FORTY2::CADWALLADER () Thu Jul 11 1991 12:26

I have noticed within a couple of the groups that I listen to
common references to such things as:

Fields of rape & gratuitous Reaping (!)
Dog Day Age (Sirius as per 11:11 Notes I guess)
	"The Blood of the Moon"
	a Death In June
	the Earth's Inferno etc... etc...

I have been interested in the paranormal/occult for a few years but
it is clear from a quick (very quick) browse through Notes that most
of the "dejavu" participants (strange - I feel as if I've typed that
before somewhwere) are rather more well-read than myself.

Therefore, I wondered if anybody knows what these groups are going on
about, since they apparently have Crowleyan leanings or inspirations.
The symbolism is completely unfamiliar to me at present.

I look forward to browsing further through many of the interesting
topics in dejavu, and hope to air my view now and again should
something which is a pet area pop up. I shall be here for 12-15 months
doing my I.T. year out. Good to know there are so many "non-closed-
	minded" people about.

	Cheers.

P.S. - the sort of groups I mean are:

		Death In June (sic)
		Current 93
		Sol Invictus
		Nurse With Wound

	(and to a lesser degree)

		Fields of the Nephilim.

Regarding the Nephilim, anyone who has read Richard Matheson's
excellent novel "What Dreams May Come" regarding a man's life-after-
death experiences might be interested to listen to the album
"Elizium" by Fields of the Nephilim, I am certain the inspiration for
this album came from the above novel. As another incidental note the
Nephilim's last album was "Earth Inferno" (... I was saying ...).

		"Man is so infinitely GREAT!"
