949.0. "Ram Dass speaking Sunday" by CURIE::HEBERT (just slips away - but I try) Tue Jan 10 1989 13:38

Hi,

is anyone planning on going to see/hear Ram Dass this Sunday (1/15) at
the New England Life Hall in Boston? This is a day-long seminar put on
by Interface of Watertown. If you're interested you can call Interface
- I don't know if they have tickets left of not. Anyone ever seen him
before? I'm looking forward to it....

I got the privilege to hear Ram Dass about 2 years ago. I was
not into anything I thought he was speaking on. I only went because
I had somewhat followed Timothy Leary and it was a charitable event.

The man blew my socks off! He talked about the "Heart of Compassion"
which was putting your spiritual love to work on a day-to-day basis.
He was extrememly honest about his downfalls including ego.

You didn't say what he was speaking on but please go if you have
an opportunity. BTW, I didn't expect as large a crowd, they had
to turn away people at the door.

Ram Dass is a wonderful spiritual spokesperson of our time.
One of his books (Grist for the Mill - written some time
ago) is one of my favorites.

I heard him speak one time. It was in the BU gymnasium.
I was high in the bleachers and he was on a little podium
in the center of the floor. The entire gymnasium was
filled. I left the session filled with a sense of
peace and joy. His presence was felt by all who were
   there.

Have you read "BE HERE NOW". I read it about fifteen years ago
and it has been everpresent in my consciousness.....the perfect
guide to living right......wish I could live it as I should....
guess we'll all have to keep trying.
