SUBJECT: CAUTIONARY NOTE TO OUR FEMALE EMPLOYEES
During the last week, we have had two incidents where off-shift female
employees have been stopped by a male on Rte 290, who flashed his headlights
until our employees pulled over. He then told them that they had something
leaking from their car. Both had the presence of mind to stay in their cars
and drive off. Both found that they had no problems with their vehicles
when they got where they were going. We have notified the Hudson Police and
the State Police, and they are conducting a joint investigation based on some
excellent information that the women involved were able to supply.
There is no reason to be overly alarmed. There was no indication from the
male who stopped them that he bore them any ill will.
We have increased our patrols of the parking lots and extended
our patrols down to the lights at Rte 85. Please feel free to contact
any of the Security personnel at any time, for any reason. If you would
like an escort to your car at night, just ask. We have always been willing
to provide this service, and always will be.
As a general rule, you should never stop and get out of your car for a
stranger. Unless you have clear indications of problems with your car,
drive to someplace safe to have it checked - a service station, a police
station, etc. Do not get out to discuss the condition of your car with
someone you do not know. If you do have indications that something is
seriously wrong, and you do not feel that you should drive further, stay
inside the car and turn on your hazard lights and wait for the police,
or someone you know to stop and help. Keep your doors locked and you
will be fine.
We are here to help you. Never hesitate to report something strange
to the officer at the desk. We would rather check and have it be nothing,
than to wish someone had told us about it after the fact.

| Re .0 (Cindy):
According to last night's news, a person suspected of being the
rapist has been apprehended.
However, it doesn't hurt to keep your guard up in equivalent
situations.
