672.3 | NATAL (660) vs. MUNDANE (672) Astrology | ISTG::DOLLIVER | Todd O. Dolliver | Fri Mar 18 1988 19:48 | 41 |
| re: .2;
I am fully aware that topic 660 is active, and has much information about
astrology. However, topic 660 has exclusively dealt with NATAL astrology
(ie. effects of planetary positions at the time of birth), and has no replies
dealing with the transiting planetary positions occurring _right now_.
The study of these current astrological events represents a separate branch
of astrology (called MUNDANE astrology).
In fact, thus far topic 660 is preoccupied with only a small part of NATAL
astrology: sun-sign astrology. While this serves as an appropriate intro
to the characteristics of each sign, I feel it is somewhat simplistic and can
turn a lot of people off from pursuing a more refined understanding. I hoped
that this new topic would give people a chance to see astrology in action for
themselves, every day. For me, the daily observations make astrology much
more _alive_ and _dynamic_ than the view provided by even a complete Natal
chart interpretation. Of course, the most accurate perspective is obtained
only when you map the current zodiacal events onto your own natal chart!
I considered this natal/mundane distinction to be a significant enough
difference to justify a separate topic allowing this day-to-day information
to be accessed directly, rather than having to scan through the over 80
replies in 660.
Todd
To CSCMA::SNOW: I realize that you started topic 660, and therefore may feel
that it is the only astrology topic worth continuing. However, I reviewed the
other relevant topics (204, 269, 539, 591, 624, and 660) and determined that
this was indeed something _different_. Did you also do that when you started
topic 660 instead of posting a response to topic 269?
PS. If anyone noticed a flicker of flame in my final comment it
could be related to the Moon being in Aries today (Cardinal Fire).
(BTW: in trine with my natal Moon in Leo (Fixed Fire))
When the Moon is in Aries, you don't even need a match to make a ~flame~!
Do you wonder where the Moon will be tomorrow?

Good one, John.
Todd, this is really wild...I don't take much stock in the daily
horoscopes as they are rather imprecise, but around the end of March
Sydney Omarr's daily horoscope for Aries said something like "major
changes in store-Pisces involved", and the forecast for Pisces said
the same thing, only "Aries involved".
Being an Aries (with my moon in Pisces and Aquarius rising) you
can imagine my shock when someone came into my life *that very day*
who is a Pisces...this person ended up staying with me for a week
and believe me, it was intense. Doesn't water put out fire, Todd?
If I didn't believe it before I do now.
Now that M. is gone, I met someone two weeks ago (today) who, come to find
out, has a birthday of March 29. This person had just broken up
a 3-year relationship with someone who's birthday was April 1. And,
my birthday is March 30. I'm now seeing this person regularly.
Rather odd how our three birthdays fall on three consecutive days.
Might this mean something (other than fiery relationships)?

| re .15;
I appreciate your interest in the Astrology Watch .. it makes me feel that
it is worthwhile for me to prepare this info. However, the Astrology Watch
Calendar comes in 'moonthly' (per moon cycle) not monthly installments.
I deemed the 'moonthly' cycle to be most appropriate for these aspects, and
I also hoped to raise the general awareness of Moon cycle and sign transitions
since these are often dynamic and noticable astrological events. I also
considered sun-sign transition installments (still not on the month boundary),
yet since I have an aversion to exclusively sun-sign astrological
interpretations I chose the Moon.
The current 'moonthly' Astrology Watch calendar covers the period from new
moon in Aries on April 16th to new moon in Taurus on May 15th, and resides
in reply .13 of this topic.
Thank you for your support :-).
re .14; Doug,
The information that you have provided is interesting. However ...
I have no idea why the daily sun-sign horoscope indicated these attachments,
or why they rang so true for you. The data you have provided is insufficient
for me to determine a proper comparative chart between you and either one of
your acquaintances. Since I do not have an automatic chart comparison program
(yet), the detailed analysis would be beyond my current scope anyway (I have
only prepared these for my closest relationships). However, given the
information you have provided I can mention a few astrological points
concerning your relationships.
First, Aries (the beginning, Fire, cardinal) and Pisces (the end, Water,
mutable) often do have a difficult time relating to each other. It is not
only Pisces sympathies which quench Aries activities (Water quenching Fire),
but also sensitive Pisces may quickly take offense to the abruptness and
insensitivity of the Aries (Fire 'steaming' Water ?:-)).
Second, your own suitability for relationships with some Pisces individuals
is indicated by your Moon position (Pisces). The Moon conjunct Sun aspect
is especially favorable in a relationship and indicates intimate emotional
understanding and close attunement (intense!).
Third, your relationships with other Aries (and especially those with
birthdays within a couple of days of yours) indicates another aspect in
your comparative chart: Sun conjunct Sun. This is also a generally favorable
aspect in a relationship since both individuals are fueled by energy from
the same source (they may _express_ it in different ways of course).
Some relationships with this aspect can become a bit lop-sided (when viewed
as a couple/partnership) since both individuals may approach a particular
problem in the same way, thus reducing the diversity of responses of the
partnership to a variety of problems. People _within_ the relationship
may not mind this, people interacting with the relationship may.
So, in summary, your particular attachments appear to be astrologically
understandable at the level of significant aspects of conjunction between
the luminaries (Sun and Moon), which are both very powerful aspects when
they appear in any relationship.
Keep your Astrology Watch calendar handy, and ...
Decide for yourself!

| Re: .23
Nanci,
It is typically the time of the sales transaction (selection and payment)
which is used as the astrologically relevant time for purchases.
Thus, since Mars is not yet retrograde (goes retro on 26August), and
since the moon was not void-of-course last night (should always keep
that in mind for any major purchases) then your new washing machine gets
a fundamentally clean astrological bill of health, no matter when
it is delivered. The delivery date could affect the short-term
operation of your new washer, but should not have a lasting effect.
However, if they call you back a couple of days before delivery
to say that they are unable to send the model or color that you
selected, then the 'purchase' time would be reset due to your
reselection, even though the payment has already been made.
Todd
BTW. We appreciate the thank you, Nanci. It is encouraging to
learn that some people are finding this information useful.

| A comment about void of course moons that I have observed in my
own life.
Common astrological wisdom states that one should not make major
purchases when the moon is void of course. The term refers to the
time between when the moon makes its last major aspect to any planet
(while in a given sign) and the time it enters the next sign. Thus,
the moon would go void of course these days after aspecting Saturn
and Uranus in (roughly) 25-27 degrees of Sagittarius.
This means that, depending on planetary placements by degrees of
the signs, the void of course period may be shorter or longer in
a given month. After Saturn and Uranus move on into the early degrees
of Capricorn the void of course period will tend to be quite long
when the other planets are also in early degrees of the signs they
are transiting.
One thing I have observed, however, is that one's own birth chart
can have an impact on this; one can have one's own "personal" void
of course period, so to speak. This would be the period after the
moon makes its last aspect _to your natal planetary placements_
while in a given sign, and its entry into the next sign. If you
have planets in 25 - 29 degrees of any sign, your own personal void
of course period is quite short.
It's true my mundane affairs go _really_ well when the moon is neither
void of course in relation to the mundane transits nor in relation
to the transits to my own chart. But I have discovered it is possible
for me to operate without disaster regarding major purchases et al
even after the mundane lunar transit has gone void of course. I
have a planet at 27 degrees of a sign, which means that my personal
void of course period is fairly short.

Re: .27 Carole
The reason I was so careful about purchasing my washing
machine before the Mars retrograde is because of some
experiences my mother had a few years back. She is a
real estate broker/manager. The company she worked for
at the time moved her into a new office and all of the
office equipment was bought during a Mars retrograde.
For the next 1 1/2 years things were breaking down.
She had trouble with the phone system, copy machine,
modem lines (not DEC), even the coffee machine. After
months of frustration she happened to see an astrologer
friend at a party who explained about the Mars retrograde.
This obviously didn't solve the problems but there was
at least an explanation.
Re: Marcia

My vehicle broke down Monday morning (of course), and the repairs

|
672.31 | To Gloria | NATASH::BUTCHART | | Tue Sep 06 1988 17:04 | 17 |
| Well, here are a couple of things to consider.
By "major purchase" I myself include only _first time_ purchases
of a totally new whole piece of equipment.
Also, I think that Mars retrograde had something to do with your
piece of heavily used (80 kilomiles is no small amount) equipment.
If any equipment, including your physique too, by the way, is in
need of overhaul, Mars retrograde periods can underline those needs
quite forcefully. The usually extroverted energy, focused inward,
can reveal inward stresses that must be attended to before taking
whatever it is on the road again, so to speak.
So get those repairs and pay the bill. Mars is telling you that
they're needed.

672.32 | Mars retrograde repairs: Cover your a$$ | ISTG::DOLLIVER | Todd O. Dolliver | Tue Sep 06 1988 18:11 | 23 |
| re .30, Cindy:
Retrograde Mars may have accentuated the mechanical problems leading
to your car's current problems, but since your car is broken now, you
have no choice (I presume) but to fix it now. Astrology can be used to
help determine optimum times for a variety of different actions for which
you can select a time, but when you don't have a choice there is no need
to astrologically second guess what you know you must do anyway. However,
astrology may still be able to provide a few hints about how to go about
doing these things.
While I agree with Marcia that Mars retrograde problems are typically
considered to primarily apply to NEW purchases, the replacement parts
and repair services could also be affected (especially for specifically
mechanical repairs such as this one). The best astrological advice for
having repair work (or any service) done during a Mars retrograde period
is to attempt to obtain the strongest/longest guarantee/warrantee for any
parts used and/or services rendered. In this case, a warrantee which
extends beyond October 28th would be advised since Mars will not turn
direct until then. Similarly, if you rent a car while yours is in the
shop, don't even think of doing without the optional insurance coverage.

672.42 | The Aspect Gap | ISTG::DOLLIVER | Happily out of the 'mainstream'. | Fri Nov 11 1988 18:16 | 74 |
| re -1; Vicki,
There is no particular reason (or maybe too many reasons to count ;-}) as to
why there are no planetary aspects or sign transitions from the period between
November 15th through November 21st. I guess I could say that it was the
planetary luck of the draw, so to speak. The composite pattern of all of
the planetary cycles just happens to have a gap of activity there. Just part
of the master pattern, I suppose.
However, there are a couple of specific contributing factors and other general
characteristics of the Astrology Watch which could help to explain this gap.
1. The Astrology Watch only lists Moon aspects with the Sun. Since each
~month the Moon transits around the entire zodiac. it forms every aspect
with every other celestial body. This is simply too much information
to transcribe for each Watch, although we may begin to indicate a few
relevant Moon aspects when they contribute to the interpretation of
other aspects. There are several Moon aspects during the gap period.
2. The Astrology Watch considers only what are called 'major' aspects
including conjunction (0 degrees), sextile (60), square (90), trine
(120) and opposition (180). There are many other 'minor' aspects which
may have influences yet are not indicated in the Watch, including
semi-sextile (30), inconjunct (150), semi-square (45), quintile (72),
nonagen (40), etc... While the allowable orb of influence for these
'minor' aspects is less than the 'major' aspects (ie. the aspect must
be more exact to have effects), many people would convincingly argue
that aspects such as inconjunct (150) should be considered 'major'
aspects. If other aspects were considered in the Astrology Watch,
additional aspects would be listed during this gap period. We may
start including a few inconjunct aspects in future Astrology Watches
when the effects are strongly indicated.
Also notice that the 'major' aspects are unequally distributed; where
sixty degrees separate conjunctions from sextiles, or trines from
oppositions, only thirty degrees separate sextiles from squares or
squares from trines. This means that there will be longer delays
between 'major' aspects during times when planets are conjunct or
opposed, and shorter delays when planets are closer to the square
aspect. This factor contributes only a small bit to the November gap
period, but it is something to keep in mind to explain other gaps.
3. In general, planets make fewer aspects when they are moving slowly
than when they are moving more quickly. This factor does have a
noticable effect during the November gap since we can identify several
planets which are currently moving relatively slowly. Saturn, Uranus,
Mars and Mercury have all recently transitioned from retrograde to
direct motion, and thus are not yet approaching their maximum transiting
speed (Mercury is now picking up speed fast though). Jupiter is now
approaching the end of its retrograde period and is thus moving
progressively slower and slower. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto never move
very fast, of course, since their orbital period is so long. This
is probably the major reason why there are fewer aspects during this
moon cycle than most cycles, and why most of the remaining aspects
involve the Sun, Venus or Mercury.
The astrological significance of these periods which are devoid of major
aspects or sign transitions is simply that there are unlikely to be major
turning points or acute shifts of energies during those times. Rather, they
are periods when we are likely to coast along under prior influences. We may
have opportunities to resolve lingering effects of waning aspects, or to
prepare ourselves for future challenges, or simply to rest and recuperate.
It is obvious that you are 'Watching closely ;-}. Don't hesitate to ask
other questions about things that you may not understand. Also, by the way,
Lisa and I don't have any monopoly on 'correct' astrological interpretations.
We provide a mix of a rather standard keyword-type approach (because this
seems to be the easiest way to teach and learn the basic interpretations)
along with certain insights acquired through reading and personal experience.
If anyone else has comments on particular aspects which may clarify or extend
particular interpretations, please feel free to post them here.
Keep 'Watching,
Todd

672.48 | So there might be reason to this madness... | STAR::WORCESTER | Life need not be a zero-sum game. | Thu Dec 01 1988 01:18 | 18 |
| I haven't kept up with this file for quite a while, but
found this note to be interesting. This fall has seemed to be a
completely irritating period for me, starting sometime in late July
until about Halloween. A lady backed into my car door on the
"infamous" full moon of Sept 25, and that day must have been the
worst day of the year for me. Lately, however, things have turned
around quite nicely. The accident which was so obnoxious in Sept
turned out to be a net positive in the end because my car was fixed
recently at no cost due to the insurance money, and the damage was
such that I got several annoying rust areas and dents fixed for
free. It's interesting to note that things looked pretty obnoxious
for the past several months of the 'Watch'. At least it seems
that it wasn't just me.
Keep up the interesting 'Watch' reports...

| A few more words, from personal experience and observation, to add
to Todd's info on aspects, especially the inconjunct.
One thing I have noted is that people whose charts are heavy with
them are the most considerate, helpful, organized people I know.
They are sensitive to nuances of situations, they remember details,
having perhaps been gifted from birth with the knowledge that things
are not always what they seem, and that situations require careful
analysis and perceptiveness before effective service can be offered.
The folks I know whose charts contain lots of inconjuncts are also
effective "gardeners", people who know that it's not occasional acts
of heroism or derring-do that resolve long-standing problems, but
patient, persistent application of caring effort. I cherish these
people, because I have seen more things die for lack of "gardening"
than from outright disaster.
Transiting inconjuncts can be another matter altogether, especially
if one's natal chart does not contain any. Any transiting aspect
that is not in one's natal chart represents a new way of experiencing
the energies of the planets involved, and it's like doing it for
the first time. My own experience of my transiting inconjuncts is
that it's like having something positioned in the "blind spot" in
one's visual field. The energy (or facet of the Self, if you will)
is there, but is not distinctly "visible". When I focus fully on
the expression of one planetary facet of the Self, the other facet
represented by the other inconjunct planet is effectively "unseen".
There can be this uneasy sense of the "invisible" facet of the Self,
of something forgotten or not done, with the attendant frustration
that comes of not being able to keep both facets "in sight"; the
"unseen" facet of the Self, if ignored, can take you by surprise.
I feel it is these factors that can give rise to a transiting
inconjunct's negative manifestations of accident-proneness or illness
(both of which I have experienced from time to time when mis-managing
my own transits).
One of the ways I have learned to manage inconjuncts is to deliberately
*not* take route of trying for full, conscious awareness and unified
application of both facets of Self. I have found this to be exhausting
and ineffective. What I now train myself to do instead is to learn
to operate *without* keeping both facets "in sight", much the same way
a blind person develops other senses to compensate for a lack of sight,
or that one automatically knows (feels) the reach of one's arm.
I have some physical experience with this tactic, because I am so
myopic as to be virtually blind without glasses; in the days before
contacts were made so my eyes could tolerate them, I was also an
active dancer and performer. I always went on stage "blind",
and was amazed at how swiftly I acquired intangible skills that
enabled me to navigate, even to sustain audience contact, without
precise vision. When grappling at first with managing inconjunct
transits, I decided to try applying this physical tactic to the
mental/emotional/psychic/whatever realms also. It takes practice,
but I'm learning. :-)

672.50 | Aspects not simply 'good' or 'bad' | ISTG::DOLLIVER | Happily out of the 'mainstream'. | Fri Dec 09 1988 14:36 | 26 |
| re .49; Marcia,
Thanks for sharing your insightful comments and experiences with both natal
and transiting inconjunct aspects. It will certainly help provide insights
for my own understanding of the inconjunct aspect in action. I would also
like to highlight your comments which suggest that some difficulties inherent
in the natal inconjunct aspects can later be reflected as apparently positive
traits such as being considerate, helpful, organized, sensitive to nuances,
'gardening', etc...
This brings up an excellent point which is often overlooked, and which can be
applied to other astrological aspects. For example, some typically 'negative'
square or opposition aspects may lead a person to develop the self-control and
insights required to reconcile conflicting influences. Also, some typically
'positive' trine or conjunction aspects may cause things to flow so easily in
certain areas of life that the individual may become lazy or spoiled.
For this reason, it is insufficient to think of natal aspects as entirely
'good' or 'bad'. I hope people will keep this in mind when exploring their
own natal charts. As we all know, without a few 'difficult' aspects we never
would have developed the *character* that we all have now ;-}.
Anyway, it just reinforces the position that it's not what you're born with,
but what you do with it, which is of the greatest value.

Hi everyone! Back from Florida...wonderful time!
Managed to attend the 1989 Lazaris session while down there, and
hope to write more on that later on, however just wanted to mention
here that Lazaris also spoke of the three weeks beginning on Jan
4th to be a time of action and to sow seeds of things that you want
to have blossom in the year ahead.
So now would be a good time to make a list, check it twice and
prioritize it. Then go about doing something about the items on
the list starting Jan. 4th...though of course now is also as good
a time as any...but the energy will be best around that time. They
can be small things - no need to try and tackle the entire world's
problems in one fell swoop, but even one _little_ project will make
a difference.
Lazaris also mentioned that it was most likely going to be a
difficult year and that our spirits might tend to become low,
so if you see your neighbor struggling and becoming frustrated,
lend a helping hand, an ear, a shoulder, or whatever, and know
that by working together, we will be able to get through it.
More in a bit.

I don't really understand the phrase "2 planets with equal access or equal
to the moon", but from what I can infer from the "veil will be lifted", you
are probably referring to the triple conjunction that is now in progress
between the planets Saturn and Neptune in the cardinal earth sign Capricorn.
By 'triple' conjunction I mean that the two planets conjunct each other three
separate times with alternating direct and retrograde encounters before
initiating the next Saturn/Neptune cycle. A triple conjunction is interpreted
as a more complete reformation of the interrelationship between two planets
than would occur if only a single conjunction initiated the cycle.
The first conjunction between Saturn and Neptune occurred on March 3rd 1989
at 12 degrees of Capricorn. Both planets were in direct motion and Saturn
(which moves faster) overtook Neptune. Since that time, both planets have
turned retrograde. Because Saturn is closer to earth, its retrograde effect
covers more degrees of arc and at a faster rate than the more distant planet
Neptune, and thus Saturn backs up over Neptune to conjunct it again on June
23rd 1989 at 11 degrees of Capricorn with both planets in retrograde motion.
The final conjunction between Saturn and Neptune will occur on November 13th
1989 at 10 degrees of Capricorn with Saturn overtaking Neptune while both
planets are in direct motion again. This final conjunction will signify most
strongly the culmination of the old Saturn/Neptune cycle, and the initiation
into a fresh new cycle.
The following aspect interpretation was entered in the Astrology Watch to
describe the first conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Capricorn on March
3rd 1989 :
> Note 672.57: Astrology Watch: New Moon in Aquarius; Feb 6th - March 7th.

> The Saturn conjunct Neptune aspect indicates steady concentration and
> mastery of psychological focus. This is extremely favorable for meditation

> to start! Emotional depression may arise at this time from subconscious

referring to then ...

| Thanks, very much Todd, for typing that all in, I did read the
Astro watch, from March with great interest.
I'm asking this question for a friend who is not very familiar with
Astrology so, I'll have to ask for more clarification. I was told
there would be 2 planets which were small that would be equal to
or have equal acces to the moon? It sounded like a trine to me.
But I'll see if this makes sense to them.
Thanks

672.71 | Sun/Moon Zenith Chart | STAR::HARAMUNDANIS | what are we doing? | Tue Oct 24 1989 15:56 | 51 |
| ...for Moon gazers, the following is a chart which includes
the zenith time (the time when the Sun and the Moon are highest
in the sky). This is for the remainder of October 1989.
This was compiled from a program I wrote which calculates
the number of hours visible and the zenith time from the
rise and set times. Also noted is the *astronomical* constellation
that the Moon is in and how many days old the Moon is on that day.
Please note that due to the procession of the constellations,
the astronomical constellation will differ from the astrological
constellation.
As the months proceed, I can place the charts as they come up.
However, if people don't think this is usefull or it winds up
being too confusing let me know. I'd also like to know whether
the calculations I have made are correct. From my observations
it seems pretty accurate, however, it is best scrutinized by
more people.
Also note, that these are calculated based on Eastern Standard Time
(EST). Add one hour for Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) or as some call
it, Daylight Savings Time (DST), until we go back to EST on the 29th.
Enjoy!
Regards,
Sergei

| Hi, Virginia...(.78)
I have one of those new-fangled astrology watches...it's really
neat! When the big hand is on Uranus and the little hand is on
little Earthy, then I know that a big moon is on the rise. I guess
the batteries must be real powerful, cause this always causes the
lens to get misty. But strapping it on gives me a big jolt, too,
since it's bio-magnetic properties accelerate the blood flow.
Anyway, I don't totally understand it, either, but it is rather
exhilerating just the same. Maybe somebody will explain it or
demonstrate it for me some day.

| Todd,
I appreciate your astro watch each month, and find it helpful in
seeing general trends, and gaging social atmospheric conditions
;-). I'm a lil confused this month, though, you have the full
moon listed for May 3rd I think? The full moon was actually
April 28th. Should the general interpertation for May 3rd actually
be for April 28th? Is this just a Mertcury in retrograde effect
;-)?
thanks
terry
|
672.97 | Yeah.. Mercury retro.. that's the ticket :-) | AICAD::DOLLIVER | Watching my life go by ... | Mon Apr 29 1991 14:50 | 28 |
| You are absolutely right, terry. Somehow the full moon text slipped down
from April 28th to the next active day on May 3rd ... while it is listed
correctly in the calendar section. I have no idea what I was thinking,
or how it happened, but I will take you up on your offer to attribute it
to Mercury retrograde ;-}
So, the full moon did in fact occur yesterday (28Apr) at 4:59PM EDT with
the Sun at 08Taurus and the Moon at 08Scorpio. Thus the following full moon
text actually applies to yesterday's "atmospheric conditions" (not 03May).
"The full moon in Scorpio/Taurus will energize and intensify the
deepest of our emotions, so it may be wise to keep any nasty
feelings to ourselves today."
(Yup .. it works for me .. if only I could always follow my own advice ;-}).
Keep in mind that we are still in the midst of the post-full moon period
(until the Moon enters Sagittarius), so these energies are still quite active.
Happily, this is the last time I will be able to use the Mercury retrograde
excuse for a while, since it just turned direct at 18Aries yesterday morning
at 5:50AM EDT! It will take a couple of days to get going, but since this
recent Mercury retrograde period has seemed especially difficult for me, I
am anxiously looking forward to a period of smoother sailing over the next
couple of months. I hope it works out that way for you too!
Thanks for your watchful eye,
Todd

Maybe they're all suffering from some sort of cosmic

just be singing off key, hence they are being punished for

Well the distance between the Earth and Uranus is very great and
Neptune is the outermost planet in our solar system, I can't see their
position in the sky doing much down here.

Shame really ... this company could do with a conjunction like that.

Thank you Jamie. I believe I understand your position.
The Astrological significance of the farther planets, related to
their longer orbits, is supposed to be quite significant, since it
time-wise relates to longer-term trends. This particular alignment,
according to what I heard in the news story (it was a SLOW news
day) was supposed to occur only every 100 and some years.
In Astrology, theoretically, the distance from earth is not neccessarily
the determining factor in significance. I'm taking something akin to
the position of Astrology as a celestial clock of sorts when I say
this, but not intending to support that position myself.
> Neptune is the outermost planet in our solar system, I can't see their

What happened to Pluto ? Of course my knowledge of Astronomy is
fairly 'Mickey Mouse,' so I will defer to dogged insistence in
Neptune as the outermost planet.

Have you ever heard of "the square of the distance"? It affects almost
all forms of radiated energy.
Neptune is the outermost planet. Pluto is the second outermost planet.

Regarding the Uranus-Neptune conjunction, zodiacally they get to
within one degree of each other this year. In 1993, they will
conjunct 3 times. Many astrologers attribute the upheaval and
drastic changes occurring world-wide in recent years to the
transit of these two planets through the sign Capricorn, which
represents our societal structures. This conjunction last
occurred well over 100 years ago. What is different at this
time is the transit of Pluto through its sign Scorpio, which is
adding an additional 'whammy' to this cycle.
So, Todd, I wouldn't specifically attribute the corporate firings, etc.
to the conjunction, as it has really not happened yet. However, the
major changes in the economy, the problems with the banking industry,
the fall of the real estate market, etc. are very connected to what
I wrote above. From my own perspective as an astrologer, I don't see
the economic situation really bouncing back. We are in for one heck
of an upheaval so hang on to your hats!

RE: the orbits of Neptune and Pluto
I may be mistaken, but I believe the Neptune and Pluto take turns
being the outermost planet. Pluto's orbit brings it inside and outside
the orbit of Neptune from time to time.

From my own feelings about the astrological cycle, I don't think
the economy is going to bounce back. Many astrologers feel that
the structures as we know them are going to collapse because they
are just not functioning for our good anymore. A new societal
structure needs to be made way for.....what that is is up to us
to create. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It doesn't
hurt to be somewhat prepared, however.

| Re: .-1 (Bill)
Thanks for the information. If indeed it is the case that the Astrological Zodiac
originally based on the location of the vernal equinox in ancient times (what
year was that again?) it would be understandable that (again, due to the
procession of the Earth's rotational axis) it would differ by as much as an
entire sign/constellation as is the case now.
Taking this as the case, why would it not be more accurate for an Astrological
readjustment to be made to take into account the procession of Earth's
rotational axis. Surely this would lead to more accurate readings, especially
since, as is noted by the difference of an entire sign (i.e. Capricorn as
opposed to Sagittarius) readings could be quite different.
Is an Astrological adjustment required? It would seem so. If not, why not?

Thanks, Carole, I would be very interested to read what you find out from your
friends. Please post when you get the chance. I understand you to mean "tropical
zodiac" to be that which Astrology uses as opposed to the Astronomical collection
of constellations on the ecliptic. It would be an interesting exercise to find
out exactly where the constellations were at my birth (Astronomically that is)
and compare that with the Astrological locations, possibly determine the
comparison of their difference readings, and see how accurate they are.
Thanks again!

From what I can tell, we're talking about the Zodiac at the time of the

It's only "unfortunate" that the discrepancy exists to prompt the
question in the first place. Since astronomy and astrology are largely
unrelated, there's no particular reason they should use a common system
for locating celestial events.

As an empirical science, astrology attempts to predict the future based
upon observation of the past. It could be that better results come
from NOT adjusting to accomodate precession. Who knows?

"ASTRONOMERS FIND CLUE TO COMETS
HONOLULU
Astronomers have discovered a small planet-like object beyond Pluto that might
provide long-sought evidence of where comets come from.
The reddish object, 124 miles in diameter, is cruising at a distance 42 times as
far from the sun as Earth -- about 4 billion miles out. Its discoverers believe
it confirms the existence of the hypothetical Kuiper belt, home of would-be
comets.
If this is ture, "We've found the answer to the question, 'Where do the comets
come from?'" said David Jewitt of the University of Hawaii.
Jewitt said he believes the object is a "virtual comet," something that would
turn into a comet if it were pulled closer to the sun."

I am not sure where you got the idea that Uranus and Neptune are
conjunct this month. According to my information, Uranus and Neptune
will be within one degree of each other from December 1992 to December
1993, with the following three conjunctions (as seen from Earth) :
February 3, 1993 (19 Capricorn)
August 21, 1993 (18 Capricorn .. retrograde)
October 25, 1993 (18 Capricorn)
As I recall, the single heliocentric conjunction of these two planets
(as seen from the Sun) occurs on April 19, 1993.

In reference to the question as to whether Uranus and Neptune are conjunct, it
appears that there is more than one school of thought on this subject. My
understanding is that the one your are using determines conjunctions when the
planetary positions come within one degree. Using this school of thought you
would not see that they are conjunct.
The school of thought I am using is to recognize conjunctions when the planetary
positions come within eight degrees. Using this school of thought they are
indeed conjunct at this time and will be for a long time to come.

RE: the conjunctions
In a natal chart, an 8 degree orb (10 degrees for the lights) would
be considered a conjunction. However, what is being tracked here is
the actual meeting of these two planets, and their exact degree/minute
of conjunction are the potent points that astrologers have been and
will work with as far as the significance for humanity.
In the timing of events when using transits to natal placements and
progressed points, the window is very small - perhaps 10 to 15 minutes
at the most.

> readjustment to be made to take into account the procession of

The astrological signs, used by astrologers, have NOTHING to do with
the constellations, used by astronomers. Astrology only
uses the ecliptic (nothing but the orbit of Earth around the Sun,
(re 1603.57) or, seen from Earth, the yearly path from the Sun
around the Earth) as a basic symbol to point to the yearly cyclic
changing quality of the relation between Earth and Sun.
For certain reasons, this yearly movement is divided in 12 equal
sectors of 30 degrees each. To be able to easily distinguish
between the different mathematical sectors, each of them got as
name the same name as the constellation that was behind it AT THAT
MOMENT. Nobody is thinking here about direct influences from those
stars !
So, in my opinion, forget about readjustment.
Hope it's clear.

|
672.161 | It comes from all around us ... | LMOPAS::DKAS::DOLLIVER | Watching my life go by ... | Fri Feb 26 1993 15:23 | 55 |
| Hi Chris,
Most of the Astrology Watch information is certainly not original to us.
We draw from many tangible and intangible sources to produce the actual
interpretations. Lisa's mother Ada is a certified astrologer, so Lisa
was brought up with astrology. I (Todd) became interested enough at 18
to get my natal chart done by a friend of my mother's, and I have been
"watching" ever since.
We have been preparing this report for quite some time now, so we generally
have several several previous interpretations of the same aspect to filter
and review. We adjust the interpretation for the particular signs involved
or for other current astrological influences, and if a representative example
or scenario occurs to us, we include it. Exceptions include aspects such as
the current Uranus-Neptune conjunction, which we have read extensively on,
but are only now experiencing.
We feel that we are actually best at interpreting our own natal charts and
transits through them. We have extended our collection of natal charts
to include quite a few friends and relatives, and we are always "watching"
and trying to assess the effects of current transits on various people.
Since this individual analysis can't be conveyed through the Astrology Watch
reports, it sometimes seems a bit impersonal to us. However, some of our
own experiences do show up as possible aspect scenarios which can bring some
of the aspects to life a bit more.
We hope that the Astrology Watch can at least inform people of current
transits and aspects, provide relatively standard interpretations with at
least a few extras, and allow people to observe for themselves and embellish
their own understanding and interpretations. For those who know their own
natal charts, the report can also be used to determine personal transits.
We obtain the aspect position/time data primarily from Llwellyn's Astrological
Calendar, and sometimes we consult standard ephemerides. We recommend the
monthly Mountain Astrologer publication which includes high quality articles,
although they are usually too specific to include in the Astrology Watch.
Robert Hand is definitely our favorite astrologer, and we strongly recommend
his book "Planets in Transit" for anyone interested in tracking transiting
aspects to their own natal chart. We have several other books of his,
including "Planets in Youth" (which helps us understand our daughter) and
"Planets in Composite" (which helps us understand our relationships).
We also frequently reference the books "Predictive Astrology" by Frances
Sakoian, and more recently, "Astrology, A Cosmic Science" by Isabel Hickey
(both are former teachers of Lisa's mother Ada).
So, Chris ... while the interpretations are not ours alone, they also aren't
derived from any single identifiable source. We think that the Mountain
Astrologer is a good place to start, even without your own natal chart
information, although we think having your own natal chart to compare against
is the best way to begin learning astrology. Of course you are also welcome
to share the Astrology Watch with whomever you wish.
Thanks for your comments,
Todd

| Mary,
Thanks again for your kind words .. we are glad that the Astrology Watch is
useful for you and others.
Chris and Marcos,
I am not sure why Marcos's question of "what happended during previous
Uranus/Neptune conjunctions" disappeared, but it is an excellent question
which may help us to understand some possible ramifications of the current
aspect. The best answer to this question that we have seen was presented in
the Feb'93 Mountain Astrologer in an article by Maya del Mar (p.44...).
It is interesting that the last Uranus/Neptune conjunction also occurred in
Capricorn in 1821, and thus may be more directly relevant to the current
conjunction than other previous conjunctions. This one could be more dramatic
however, since this is the first time that both Uranus and Neptune are known
to us during the conjunction (last time only Uranus had been discovered).
From the article .. "Capricorn has much to do with society's structures --
with such things as government, business, economics, communication,
transportation, religion, and education."
The following historical events are mentioned in the article :
1815-1825
- Rothschilds center new banking practices in the Bank of England ..
arguably the start of modern industrial capitalism
1821 - British government puts Bank of England on the gold standard on
the _day_ of the Uranus/Neptune conjunction
- Missouri admitted as a slave state ..
eventually led to Civil War
- Faraday demonstrates electromagnetic rotation
- Many Latin American countries achieved independence from Spain
(may now seek freedom from US domination?)
1822 - World's first iron railroad bridge completed
1823 - Monroe Doctrine published
621 - Islam established during this prior Uranus/Neptune conjunction
(Islam active in world events now)
There could be many more examples of far-reaching events which originated
sometime around 1821. If any historians are aware of other significant
events during this time period, it would be interesting to hear about them.

Astrology Watch Highlights
==========================
The new moon on 18February in Aquarius (fixed air) provides us with
opportunities to re-establish our involvement with the creative goals of
groups and organizations, with friends, and with humanitarian interests.
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (erratic change) and relates to the 11th house
concerns of organizations, personal goals and objectives, science, and a
detached mental outlook. As a fixed sign, Aquarian energies are stable;
and as an air sign the energy is expressed through ideas rather than
through actions (fire), emotions (water), or things (earth).
Using Aquarian influences individuals can enjoy more positive self-expression
through scientific, humanitarian, or occult groups. People also gain a more
universal perspective on life. The way to maximize growth during this new
moon cycle is to condense ideas and thoughts into viable plans for the future
which are designed for the benefit of all rather than just for ourselves.
--------------------
Moon's First Quarter : Sunday 18 February - Tuesday 05 March
--------------------
<< Monday 19 February >>
Today the Sun enters Pisces for a stay until 20March. The mutable Piscean
influences (ruled by Neptune) bring a more sensitive and emotional attitude
compared to the fixed mental expressions of Aquarius. People may become more
sensitive, creative, and romantic, and will strive for insights on deeper
emotional levels. The following chart highlights this sun-sign transition.

Duality Masculine Feminine

This is a challenging time for creatively transforming the world around us
as Mars at 03Pisces squares Pluto at 03Sagittarius. Power struggles and
disagreements may ensue. Energy levels are high and this aspect arouses
ambition, but be careful of arousing opposition in the people you confront,
because it may be fierce. Don't act ruthlessly or underhandedly toward
others no matter how angry you become. Avoid dangerous places and activities.
<< Thursday 22 February >>
Bad feelings are apt to flare up in an open encounter today as the Sun at
03Pisces squares Pluto at 03Sagittarius. For this aspect the Sun can represent
powerful authority figures and Pluto can indicate the emotional eruption of
hidden grudges. This is a good day to keep our mouths shut so we don't
close any doors behind ourselves.
---------------------
Moon's Second Quarter : Monday 26 February - Tuesday 05 March
---------------------
<< Friday 01 March >>
We should try to expand our abilities to satisfy our own desires today as
Mars at 12Pisces sextiles Jupiter at 12Capricorn. We may find that luck is
with us if we expend the effort to try. This aspect is excellent for positive
and optimistic action on new projects.
<< Saturday 02 March >>
Our ego drives will get energized as the Sun at 12Pisces sextiles Jupiter
at 12Capricorn. With a bit of internal bolstering we can become brimming
with boisterous self-confidence and optimism. This aspect can also bring
good luck, and things planned today should work out well. It is also a
good day for group participation activities or philosophical pursuits.
<< Sunday 03 March >>
Avoid indulgences and self-pity today as Venus at 27Aries squares Neptune at
27Capricorn. Beware of being swept into depression and emotional confusion.
Watch the road carefully and don't daydream while driving.
<< Monday 04 March >>
A real energizer hits us today as the Sun conjuncts Mars at 14Pisces.
There is a possibility of ego-based over-aggression with this aspect, yet
athletic prowess is at its height so athletic outlets are highly recommended
to burn off excess energy. Otherwise, excess energy may be expressed as
irritability or arguing, and accidents may result from impulsive or reckless
actions. Strong regenerative forces may be available to us, however, and
initiation of new creative projects is favored. This aspect may also expose
our level of satisfaction with our current life situation, and may prompt us
to change our circumstances or our ambitions.
--------------------
Moon's Third Quarter : Tuesday 05 March - Tuesday 12 March
--------------------
<< Tuesday 05 March >>
The full moon occurs this morning with the Moon at 15Virgo opposing the
Sun at 15Pisces. This full moon in mutable signs may lead us to be
emotionally over-sensitive and/or over-critical, yet we should remain
flexible enough to resolve any problems which arise with this aspect.
Pluto at 03Sagittarius turns retrograde today until 10August. For a few
days while Pluto is essentially stationary but about to turn retrograde it
can bring out power struggles involving matters of business finances, debts,
loans, and other major changes which are often irreversible. Don't cling to
things which are falling by the wayside. Try not to react to the inevitable
destruction of some things by making decisions which preclude future options.
If it doesn't fit in your life don't blow it up ... blow it out of your life.
Venus enters its own sign Taurus this evening for a stay until 03April.
This transit is a pleasant one, and the fixed sign influence can lend
stability to our love relationships. Artistry and love are viewed in a
more possesive and security-minded way, with a more practical and serious
approach. Practice, study, and earthy sensuality are favored.
<< Thursday 07 March >>
Today Mercury enters Pisces for a stay until it enters Aries on 24March.
When Mercury is in Pisces (ruled by Neptune) we can become more in touch
with the hidden sides of our personalities and our unconscious drives, yet
we are more likely to keep such insights to ourselves. We are likely to have
increased concern with spiritual development, and may feel like escaping into
reclusion to sort out our ideas. Keeping secrets from others will only
undermine their confidence in us once the hidden secrets are revealed.
<< Friday 08 March >>
We are provided with opportunities to awaken and transform our personal
religious and philosophical freedom as Uranus at 03Aquarius sextiles Pluto
at 03Sagittarius. This aspect is somewhat active throughout this year,
and is exact today. This aspect can provide an unyielding focus on
innovation, and an increased clarity of purpose. Attempt to direct your
energies toward longer range goals which are worth achieving, and keep an
open mind for potentially unexpected solutions to current problems.
We may seek excitement in love relationships as Venus at 03Taurus squares
Uranus at 03Aquarius. Patience is demanded, and Venus in Taurus may be
able to muster what is required. Don't flirt too much today or you may
provoke a major confrontation with someone you love. Try to keep a lid
on impulsive spending since the excitement of buying will pass long before
the bills are paid ;-}.
<< Saturday 09 March >>
Our manner of communicating to ourselves and others may undergo challenges
later today as Mercury at 03Pisces squares Pluto at 03Sagittarius. Challenges
may be severe enough to divert us to a new way of thinking about ourselves
and of communicating to others. Active and emotional disagreements may ensue,
yet with both planets in mutable signs, some reconciliation may be possible.
Our best bet is to accept any criticism from others with a calm and listening
ear, and then use the feedback to modify our attitudes and behaviors. While
this sounds good, we may be more likely to take offense at criticism, or to
write it off as being totally baseless and fabricated by a lunatic ;-}.
<< Sunday 10 March >>
Mercury at 04Pisces sextiles Venus at 04Taurus today. This mild positive
aspect may allow us to express our feelings more freely, and to arrive at a
common understanding of issues with others.
---------------------
Moon's Fourth Quarter : Tuesday 12 March - Tuesday 19 March
---------------------
<< Friday 15 March >>
We may gain valuable insights into our own personal foundations and sense of
responsibility today as Saturn at 27Pisces sextiles Neptune at 27Capricorn.
We may identify practical new methods of responding to emotional commitments,
We can effectively initiate communications for expansive new projects as
Mercury at 14Pisces sextiles Jupiter at 14Capricorn. Favored are
Piscean projects involving emotional interactions, or Capricorn projects
focussing on business objectives.
<< Sunday 17 March >>
Restrictions or increased responsibilities may weigh heavily upon us today
and may be sobering or depressing as the Sun conjuncts Saturn at 27Pisces.
This may also represent a disciplinarian attitude toward using authority.
Arthritis or joint pain may also kick up and restrict some people's mobility.
Try to do something practical today, or reconsider long-range plans.
Our psychic sensitivities will be heightened today as the Sun at 27Pisces
sextiles Neptune at 27Capricorn. We may be able to unify many aspects of
our inner and outer spiritual natures. While we may feel a bit confused,
if we apply a little extra effort we may be able to clarify many spiritual
questions which have been plaguing us for some time.
<< Tuesday 19 March >>
We may become romantically inclined today as Venus at 14Taurus trines
Jupiter at 14Capricorn ... one of the most positive astrological aspects.
This aspect could enable us to break free of restrictive influences and
construct a new foundation for our affectional interests. Venus trine
Jupiter is also excellent for a bit of redecorating around the home or office.
Artistic endeavors involving music or art are likely to give you pleasure and
turn out well due to the great creative potential. This is a time when we may
finally receive deserved rewards which were previously earned, and when we are
likely to demonstrate more benevolence toward others.
The next new moon is at the end of Pisces on 19March. Until then ...
spend a bit of time charting out your future, yet keep in mind that your
own plans will work out better if there are inherent benefits for others
as well as for yourself.

Astrology Watch Highlights
==========================
The new moon on 17April in Aries (cardinal fire) provides us with an
opportunity to make a fresh start. Aries is the astrological new year,
and thus a time for new beginnings. Aries is ruled by Mars (desire and
aggression) and relates to 1st house concerns of ego, independence, new
ventures, self-awareness and discovery.
As a cardinal sign, Aries energies are dynamic; and as a fire sign, energy
is expressed through actions rather than through emotions (water), things
(earth), or thoughts (air). Using Aries influences, individuals can enjoy
competitive sports, new projects, and any activity that requires direct
assertiveness. We should guard against over-impulsiveness or being too
headstrong. To maximize growth during this new moon cycle initiate changes
now. This is a new chance for making New Year's resolutions, so start fresh,
develop new ideas, explore new options, and try new things.
--------------------
Moon's First Quarter : Wednesday 17 April - Thursday 25 April
--------------------
<< Wednesday 17 April >>
The new Moon today is associated with a Solar Eclipse, providing more
accentuation for this transition to the individual and personal dynamism
of an Aries Moon cycle.
We may be in for other challenges today resulting from delusion, dreaminess,
creativity, or dissipation of energies as the Sun at 27Aries squares Neptune
at 27Capricorn. This may inspire some to creative expression, and may instill
psychic content into relationships, yet it may also create delusional thinking
with respect to any practical or factual reality orientation. Drugs or other
escapist tendencies may be indulged.
Our mental outlook is looking up today with optimistic viewpoints as Mercury
at 17Taurus trines Jupiter at 17Capricorn. This aspect may be accompanied by
job opportunities for interesting and rewarding work, or promotions. At this
time communications are smooth and philosophically minded. We demonstrate a
good balance between attention to detail versus grasp of the comprehensive
view. Emotional disturbances may improve through relaxation or excercise.
This aspect is favorable for study, writing, teaching, interacting with the
communications media, or travel related to philosophy, religion, or education.
<< Friday 19 April >>
The Sun enters Taurus (fixed, earth) today for a stay until 20May, ushering

now to encourage steady growth, and sow new seeds for hardy development.
Aries has been rushing out in new directions, now Taurus sets our feet back
firmly on the ground. The following chart highlights this sun-sign transition.

We should prepare for and beware of sudden upsets and disruptive situations
as the Sun at 04Taurus squares Uranus at 04Aquarius. We desire to break
down our everyday routines today, yet we may end up taking foolhardy risks
to do so. Be extra careful today since we tend to be more accident prone.
Learn to go with the flow of disruptions, and avoid arguing or you could
make things worse.
---------------------
Moon's Second Quarter : Thursday 25 April - Friday 3 May
---------------------
<< Saturday 27 April >>
A major positive aspect between outer planets occurs today as Saturn at
02Aries trine Pluto at 02Sagittarius. Saturn in Aries indicates that
our sense of structure is associated with the first house characteristics
of pioneering effort and individual responsibility. Pluto in Sagittarius
indicates that tendencies to break down and rebuild are applied to our
philosophies. This aspect indicates that we can break down old worn-out
structures to reveal brand new approaches which emerge on more solid ground.
While these changes may shake some people up, Saturn can stabilize the
inevitable reformative influences of Pluto. Some herculean individual
efforts may provide major benefits for the world as a whole, possibly in
the area of cures for diseases.
<< Monday 29 April >>
Neptune at 27Capricorn turns retrograde today until 06October. This
transit accentuates our internal conflicts between dreams versus practicality.
We need to use and cultivate our imagination even in opposition to practical
issues, and we need to get our affairs in order. Many things which have been
kept concealed for a long time may be exposed as Neptune turns retrograde.
Our energies may dissipate into a haze today as Mars at 27Aries squares
Neptune at 27Capricorn. This can lead to laziness, procrastination, or
even religious fanaticism. Our desires can be deluded so don't push them.
This is an excellent time for practical creativity and our imaginative powers
as Mercury at 27Taurus trines Neptune at 27Capricorn. We may achieve harmony
through creative pursuits, or we may just enjoy daydreaming today.
<< Thursday 2 May >>
Mars enters Taurus today until 12June following its recent stay in Aries.
People may notice a slow-down of all activities since Mars in Aries was quite
a firecracker, but Mars in Taurus becomes much more stable and can plod
steadfastly and stubbornly towards longer range goals. This sign transition
exemplifies the two characters in the classic story of the tortoise (Mars in
Taurus) and the hare (Mars in Aries).
--------------------
Moon's Third Quarter : Friday 3 May - Friday 10May
--------------------
<< Friday 3 May >>
The Moon is full today, with the Moon at 13Scorpio opposing the Sun at
13Taurus. This fixed sign full moon is as stubborn as they get, so any
conflicts which arise should be stepped around delicately instead of faced
head-on at this time. Head-on confrontations will result in head-on
collisions, with neither party diverting from their original stance.
On 03May Mercury turns retrograde at 28Taurus until 27May. This happens
three to four times a year (4-6 weeks per time), and has some of the most
noticable effects of any astrological event. When Mercury is retrograde
(especially as it turns retro) communication faculties slow down, we become
more reflective, and communications in general falter. This does not have to
be such a negative period so long as you don't try to push..push..push
everything through. Try to allow extra time, and be content to let things
happen at their own pace. You don't want a tight schedule when Mercury is
retrograde.
<< Saturday 4 May >>
Our expansive tendencies in relationships begins to settle back into a
period of consolidation today as Jupiter at 17Capricorn turns retrograde
until 03September. This is not the best period to buy a new house or
property, or to build additions onto your current property. Expansion of
any kind may not turn out as planned. Instead, attempt to complete and
consolidate current efforts in preparation for a new wave of expansion
beginning in September.
<< Tuesday 7 May >>
This should be an optimistic and happy day or two as the Sun at 17Taurus
trines Jupiter retrograde at 17Capricorn. With both in Earth signs our
practical outlook may get quite a boost. With Jupiter currently retrograde
we may end up a bit over-extended, but we should still take this aspect and
run with it! Throw a party, or at least attend one. This aspect is also
favorable for completing home renovations which never quite got finished.
<< Wednesday 8 May >>
Uranus turns retrograde today at 04Aquarius until 09October. During
this period our organization and self-discipline, though well-meaning, may
falter. There is a need to accept practical responsibilities. If they
are not dealt with effectively then sudden events may disrupt our life
which require change and adaptability.
This is an excellent time for practical creativity and our imaginative powers
as Mercury at 27Taurus trines Neptune at 27Capricorn. We may achieve harmony
through creative pursuits, or we may just enjoy daydreaming today.
Be careful to avoid accidents with cars or sharp objects today as Mars at
04Taurus squares Uranus at 04Aquarius.
---------------------
Moon's Fourth Quarter : Saturday 22 April - Saturday 29 April
---------------------
<< Tuesday 14 May >>
There may be active communications today as the Sun conjuncts
Mercury at 24Taurus. With this aspect in Taurus,
our interactions are likely to be slow and methodical.
With Mercury retrograde, no matter how slow we go, there is still
likely to be confusion and misinterpretation.
The next new Moon occurs in Taurus on May 17th. Until then ... adopt a
fresh exploratory Aries attitude to get up and get going in new and
exciting directions. Go for it!

| To all who have followed the monthly Astrology Watch postings :
Unfortunately I will be unable to continue these postings in the future.
While I expect to still be a Digital employee for a month or so, I will
then be moving to another position ... hopefully a positive move for me.
Amazingly I am not being laid-off, even though there have been at least
two very close calls over the past year.
I hope that these Astrology Watch postings have served as an appropriate
introduction to Astrology for many people. These day-to-day planetary
aspects and zodiac signs/transits are of special interest to me, while
my wife Lisa places more emphasis on natal chart analysis, and transiting
aspects to natal chart positions. Obviously I would need everyone's natal
chart to provide this type of interpretation, and although our collection of
friends' charts is growing significantly, I don't have enough disk space
at home to store a chart for everybody ;-}
While I feel that the Astrology Watch material is a reasonable introduction,
I would like to say that this material is still too general to have direct
predictive value for everyone. While Lisa can confront someone who has
Neptune (confusion) in the 3rd house (siblings) with a question about
whether their brothers and sisters are not actually their real biological
siblings (which was true), and many other subtle personal observations,
this level of specificity is not possible through the Astrology Watch format.
I will make a final recommendation to all who would like to continue their
interest in this type of material to subscribe to the Mountain Astrologer.
This publication has a section which covers essentially the same material
as has been presented here, and a wealth of other information to boot.
Oh, and _any_ book by Robert Hand ... we think he is the best around.
In a prior decision of mine to stay at DEC, DejaVu was a significant
consideration (along with UFO), as I feel that it is critical to stay
abreast of all current developments in both areas. I would like to thank
all contributors to this Notes file for the varied information which you
have shared. It has certainly been appreciated by me!
I will definitely say another good-bye to DejaVu'ers before I go, and
fill you in on some of the particulars of my transition. While it
seems to be getting a bit quiet in here, I think that the next year or
two may provide some new and exciting events which could light a fire
under all of our butts, and spark new areas of exploration for us all.
Wishing you all well,
Namasthe,
Todd and Lisa

Thank you so much for all that you and Lisa have done for us all here
over the years, Todd.
I'm going to definitely miss your contributions. Your writeups have
been so helpful to me, and have provided insights when my life would
suddenly turn upside-down for no apparent reason. (;^)
Best to you and Lisa always,
Cindy
