| I went to a Psychic last night in Framingham. She was excellent!
She did not use any tools and she wrote down everything she said.
I have six pieces of paper. She charges $50.00 per hour, but worth
it. Her name is Lee, 872-5609. If you decide to go, she will ask
you who recommended you. Tell her Connie Baumeister.
Also, she was called upon to help solve the "Atlanta" murder case.
Good luck.

I have read a book by the Full Trance Medium Elwood Babbit titled
TALKS WITH CHRIST AND HIS TEACHERS. It is channeled conversations
with Christ and his teachers Judy, Hosea and also talks with Serokas,
Pontius Pilate and St. Luke. Pretty interesting book all in all,
considering who is actually speaking through Elwood.
I don't know him personally, but I did work with a Technical
Illustrator in MRO2 who lived next door to him in Wendel Depot,
MA. He said he was quiet and kept to himself, a friendly neighbor
and you could call on him if you needed some kind of help, car stuck
in a snowbank kind of thing etc.
Here is an excert from his book:
A LETTER FROM MR. BABBIT
Dear Reader,
Please understand that though I was the channel through
which spiritual forces have expressed these messages to the
world, yet I was not the author of their expressions. I was
like the surface of a quiet lake reflecting the sun, and though
I have spiritual experience to share with those seeking under-
standing, I pretend to no spiritual authority. So, therefore,
may you read what is written here and benefit therefrom, but
know that I have no license to dispense final truth. I am
but a telephone seeking to serve, performing a function of
bringing close contact between spirit and those who desire
that contact.

| Way back in 73 I read an article in Parade Magazine about Elwood so
one quiet Sunday my at the time wife and I went to find him. After asking
several people where he could be found we located his farm on an old dirt
road in Wendall Depot. I was apprehensive of just dropping by but figured if
he was as cool as he seemed in the article he wouldn't mind. We knocked on
the door and a hippie girl (remember them?) from a local commune he was
affiliated with, invited us in.
The room was warm and friendly and filled with people and cats.
Elwood was busy doing a life reading in another room so we were invited to
sit down and relax with the other people. A woman gave us coffee and introduced
us to the others. I don't remember all the people we met but one was a
Professor Hapgood who was in the process of doing a book on Elwood.
Eventually Elwood appeared and the girl who invited us in
introduced us to him. He seemed like a stereotype of an old country farmer
and he greeted us warmly. He knew I wanted a life reading without me asking
for one and explained that the "powers" only allow him to perform a
limited number per day. He asked if I could come back Easter Sunday, a
couple of weeks later.
We returned on the appointed day and Elwood invited me into his den
for the reading. He asked me if I had brought a cassette tape with me to
record the reading and I said no. He said it was no problem and he got a
spare tape from his desk.
He explained a little about his control spirit, a Doctor Fisher
and he began his trance. It is difficult for me to describe the
transformation he went through but as I watched his face and then his body
began to twitch then he said in a completely different voice said "This is
Doctor Fisher taking control of the body". The difference in his voice and
mannerisms was amazing. He then preceded to give me a reading of several
past lives. He talked to me of my past and present lives for about a half
hour and then asked if I had any questions for him. I asked a few questions
which he answered and then he began his return to his normal personality.
Again I was impressed with the changes to his persona as the "Old
Farmer" returned. He asked me what I thought and we spoke for a little
while. He seemed unaware of what he had told me. When he finished our talk
he gave me the tape and walked me to the door. I asked him if I could pay
him for the reading and the tape but he politely refused and said it was a
gift. As I was leaving, he invited me to visit him again but as yet I
haven't had the chance.
Overall I was and am still quite impressed with Elwood and I still
occasionally listen to the tape he gave me.

| Just saw this note for the first time today.....I don't get around
too much!
Even though this reply is tad late, I'd like to re-open the
discussion on Elwood. I too have been interested in him for some
time but have never gotten to meet him. I did talk to his "young"
sounding wife on the phone once to inquire about an appearance and
demonstration of his seemingly remarkable gifts at the Spritualist
church in Watertown, MA.
By the way, she did tell me that Charles Hapgood - Elwood's writer
in residence had passed away - seems that he had been tragically
run over while crossing a road in Central MA. I never did make
the connection for his appearance at the church and never contacted
them again. I've seen him on television and he appears to be a
genuinely good and humble man who happens to have the ability to
channel the entity who calls himself Dr. Fisher.
On one particular show, the interviewer asked the then manifest Dr.
Fisher where Elwood was at the moment. Fisher replied that Elwood was
"exploring the universe", explaining that it was an opportunity for
his host, who was free then of this earthly reins, to seek the higher
wisdoms and enjoy the greater pleasures of the discanate realms. It did
sound better than "Club Med"!
