552.0. "Anyone read Lynn V. Andrews?" by MEMV03::BULLOCK (Flamenco--NOT flamingo!!) Wed Nov 04 1987 18:00

    Hi folks--

Has anyone read any of Lynn V. Andrews books ("Medicine Woman",
"Star Woman", etc.)? I was in AZ last week, and got reading these
books--briefly, she relates her experiences in self-growth with
the help of two Indian medicine women. (The books are wonderful--there
are at least two more in the series--"Jaguar Woman" and "Flight
    of the Seventh Moon[I think]")

After reading these books, I can't help but notice similarities
between these, the Bible, some books on crystals and crystal healing,
Dan Millman's "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior", etc.

Is it me, or is everyone saying basically the same thing? From
my reading, it seems like there are some universal basics like
everything having a spirit; there are natural forces that we can
use and benefit from if we choose to learn; and so on.

I'd like to hear from fellow seekers on this.

Yes, I have read all 4 books mentioned, and the newest one
"Crystal Woman" has just come out. I enjoyed all of them
    very much.

I think I mentioned in another note awhile back that, as I
was getting involved in all of this "stuff", the thing that
suprised and delighted me (and in some ways affirmed me) was
that the same things were being said, but maybe in slightly
different ways. So perhaps it is true that all paths lead to
    the same place!

Lynn Andrews was at Skylight Books (Cambridge, Mass) a few weeks back
signing copies of her latest book ...

Yeah, it's like when you read a note, and it stirs up a response in
your mind, and then you read the next reply and Carole has already said
    it! Practically word for word!

552.4Certainly seems that way to meCSC32::KACHELMYERDavid L. Kachelmyer, VMS-SPACEThu Nov 05 1987 00:2110
I agree with Carole in .1; from my exposure to the subject, all
of the things I've seen appear to be different ways of expressing
the same basic concept. Different twists on the same plot, if you
    will.

    P.S.

I'm waiting for Crystal Woman to come out in softcover. :-)

I *love* these books! Can't read 'em too close together, tho....
I think my circuits get overloaded.

YEs, I notice a *lot* of writing, from seemingly disjoint, far-apart
places/ disciplines comes together (for me) surprisingly. Channeled
works, shamanistic things, psychological stuff...on and on.

Sometimes I think it's creepy, bu mostly I think it makes sense.
