512.0. " Sensing a presence-cont." by STING::MOREAU () Fri Oct 02 1987 16:07

I have just finished reading note 14 about sensing presences and
would like to bring it up again for discussion if there is any
    interest.

The only experience I ever had was a few years ago. It was a minor
incident, I sometimes feel its more 'subconcious' related than
anything. Anyway, I am the youngest of 5 so I was the last to
live with my parents. My bedroom was the last one on the left of
a very short hallway. I never liked that room. I always felt
something strange about it. It never bothered me to the point where
I couldnt sleep in it, though. One morning I had overslept for
school or work (I forget how old I was when this happened).
And suddenly I was awoken by a loud pounding at my door. I sat
right up and looked at the clock and realized I was late. I didnt
think much of the pounding - I just thought I had dreamt it. It
happend two more times after that. The second time, I started
wondering about it. The third time, I immediately ran for the door
and opened it to find no one there. I went down stairs and saw
my father working in his office. I asked him if he did it and he
said "No". Later that day I told my mother about it but she didnt
really know what to tell me except that she hadnt done it either.
Since the time I told her about it, It never happened again. I moved
into the other bedroom (only because it was bigger) but It never
happened again. To this day I oversleep a lot but I'm never awoken
by a pounding on my door. Usually I just suddenly wake up out
of a deep sleep at the same exact time every morning. I have a
feeling that it was just my subconcious telling me "get the hell
out of bed you bum!" But who knows???

I used to live in an old Victorian home that was divided up
into apartments. Throughout the years I lived in all three
apartments, but while I was living on the third level (the
servant's quarters) I had an interesting experience.

One night I was lying in the dark trying to go to sleep, and
as I had my eyes closed I began to hear the sound of bells
twinkling a melody. The house was near several churches so
I didn't think too much of it until the sound of the bells
grew louder. When I sat up in bed, the sound stopped. As
soon as I layed back down, the sound started up again. It
was such a beautiful melody that I wasn't afraid, although
I knew *something* was going on.

Again, I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep. A few
minutes later I heard a young girl whisper in my ear,
"Carla" (my name). It startled the you-know-what out of me
and I bounced up expecting to see someone standing there,
but of course I was physically alone. I never felt fear,
and still don't quite know what happened, but I've always
thought it was the spirit of a young servant girl who had
worked in the house and wanted to contact me.
