404.0. "Christos Experience" by SNOV06::MYNOTT () Thu Jul 09 1987 06:51

Have any of you heard of the Christos Experience?

This is from a book called Windows of the Mind by G Glaskin. It
is a method travelling to past lives without hypnosis, but a form
    of dreaming.

My friend and I did this quickly last weekend, mainly because we
know we have shared many, many lives together. I have previously
been hypnotised and gone back over five lives (that is until nature
called in the middle....). Upon landing in this life it was the
first one I had gone to previously, Ireland, and this time I saw
it in detail. My family, and my friend was my older brother, although
he didn't look the same as now, I knew, and our mother is another
friend, (she often does my tarot and is part of our 'circle').
The details were so clear and it was the most fascinating experience
I have ever had. Tonight 'Mum' and I are taking Paul back to see
    what and where he goes.

Both Paul and I know we have been involved in witchcraft, he knows
he was burnt, I was not a witch, but closely into it, in of all
    places - New England, somewhere.

I can already hear you Cindy, and I know now why I have this desire,
overwhelming as it is to see only New England. We are going to
keep doing this past experiences until we come across this one.

The method is so simple and involves two people plus the one going
down. You do not need to be able to hypnotise, or worry as this
is only a dream form. You are able to come out of it yourself at
any time. You see everything from behind the you that is you.

If anybody would like a copy of the proceedure and there is room
to enter it, let me know, it covers about three pages of type.

I will leave this for you all to think about.

404.3Burning witches.PBSVAX::COOPERTopher CooperThu Jul 09 1987 14:0915
For what its worth ... (not all that much), there are no records
to my knowledge of anyone in New England ever being burned for
witchcraft. Furthermore, witchcraft hysteria was extremely rare
in NE (Salem was an abberation, as even the people involved later
    admitted).

What weakens this considerably is two things:

    	1) I'm not an historian, by any means, and could easily be outright
    	   wrong about this.

    	2) Things happen all the time which no one makes a record of.

    Re .3:

Topher's correct. Burning "witches" was primarily an Anglo-European
tradition. In New England, they were usually hanged (though one
    was crushed to death).

I use the quotation marks around "witches" because apparently most
of the victims of the [relatively mild, by European standards] New
England witch hysteria weren't practicing _any_ kind of witchcraft.

    re: 3 and 4

Thanks - I am never sure of my history. But perhaps the hanging
would account for my never being able to wear anything near my neck.
I am unable to wear a tight collar (thank goodness I am not a man
that has to wear a shirt and tie) or jumper. I often have the feeling
    of restriction around my neck.

Another question on the subject of witches - could the witches have
been practising white magic? We still haven't gone back to this
one yet. Four of us from our circle feel very strongly about New
England and witchcraft, but it could also be the healing sort.
I have absolutely no tie whatsoever with Europe, although my friend
has - funnily enough a real chauvanist in two past lives. Hmmmm
interesting the family he chose this time round!!!

As soon as I get 20 minutes free I will enter the proceedure.

    Many thanks for your responses.

I don't believe this, I just typed the whole procedure, and it dropped
    out. What a day I'm having.....yes, I am a little p***ed off to
    say the least.

    Here we go again,

The person being run is to lie flat on his back on the floor with
a cushion under his head and with his shoes off. Socks or stockings
can be left on. With his eyes firmly closed, the person's ankles
are massaged for about five minutes to loosen them and induce
    relaxation.

Shortly after starting to massage the ankles, another person (usually
the one doing the questioning) massages the third eye position in
a circular motion with the edge of his curved hand (little finger
on forehead) so that it fits snugly into this third eye position.
The massaging should be vigorous rubbing till the person being run
    feels his head really buzzing.

The person being run must be fully relaxed. If he is still a little
tense he should take several deep breaths and then let himself go
    limp.

Now commence the mental exercises to make the relaxed person being
run expand his mind beyond its normal limits in his physical body.
It doesn't matter if the person is spiritually aware or not, the
technique still works, but of course the greater the sense of spiritual
awareness the person has, the greater will be his ability to see
and understand his experience. Also they must have a deep inner
need to find out something of a past life. It will not work unless
    they want to go back.

The person is then asked to visualise his own feet as he lies there
with his eyes still closed until the journey is over. Then he is
asked to visualise himself growing two inches longer through the
bottoms of his feet. He just has to feel himself two inches taller,
but some will actually see it happen at the ankles. he is then
asked to say when he is two inches taller, the person doing the
instructing waiting until he has done so.

*At this stage the person being run should be encouraged to start
talking as much as possible, so that he will become accustomed to
the idea for later on when it is very necessary for him to describe
    his experience.*

Once he as stretched two inches, he is asked to return to his normal
length or neight, trying to see or feel or both his feet returning
towards him to their normal position. Repeat this three times till
he becomes accustomed to the process, always waiting for each stretch
    and return to be accomplished.

You may now stop massaging the feet and third eye. Now repeat the
entire process, but through his head. Then return to the feet and
have him stretch and return them a distance of 12 inches. Repeat
the same distance through his head.

Again return him to his feet and have him stretch 24 inches. The
instructor can tell if the person is having difficulty as this 24
inch stretch should be accomplished in under a minute. (Have the
person being run repeat till he does so). DO NOT have him return
from this longest stretch, but have him stretch the same distance
24 inches through his head. If he says he finds his feet are
withdrawing as he stretches through his head, have patience and
persevere until he has accomplished stretching in both directions.

While stretched four feet ask him next to expand all over, to feel
himself growing in all directions, rather like an enormous balloon.
This expands him out of himself. The next step is to start him
seeing things - familiar things at first - so he is now to picture
himself as he normally is, but standing outside his own front door.

Ask him to look at his own front door and describe it to you in
full. Ply him with as many questions as you can about it until
he has fully de4scribed the door and its surroundings, including
what he is standing on and what is above him when he looks up.

Once he has managed to look at his front door with what is called
expanded consciousness, he must then become accustomed to a feeling
of free movement while obtaining a much wider range of vision or
visualising. You now ask him to imagine he is standing on top of
his roof and to describe what his garden or immediate surroundings
look like from that height. Keep on asking for details as this
makes him accustomed to seeing without the use of his actual eyes.

Now ask him to go straight up in the air 500 metres and to keep
talking as he looks down, describing all he can now see from this
greatly increased height. If he should baulk at the height, remind
him that he is still actually on the floor and is only visualising
being at that height. Now ask him to turn slowly in a complete
circle and describe everything he sees, to accustom him to seeing
    from an unnatural viewpoint.

This done, ask what time of day it is while he is seeing what he
is. Usually it is daytime, but it can be at various times and with
very different weather yet neither time nor weather will be related
to actual conditions. Now if he is seeing during the day ask him
to change the scene to night-time and to describe all he sees as
it now is. Then ask him to change back to daytime and to compare
the scene with how it was at night-time. It doesn't matter if they
differ but they are usually the same.

Next to give him assurance of safety for the remainder of the journey
ask who is changing from day to night and back to day again. Most
will say I am or I am but at your suggestion. it is very important
that he realises that he himself has the control over whatever he
    is seeing.

If you are satisfied that the person is content in his newly expanded
environment you now carefully guide him to the experience and possibly
to a past life. Tell him, rather than just ask him to keep the
picture in bright sunshine so that he can see clearly where he lands,
    feet first.

While looking down he should see his feet so you have him describing
his feet, if bare, or what he is wearing on them (often shoes, though
of course in reality he is wearing socks or is barefooted from the
    preliminary massaging).

Go on from the feet to ask him what kind of ground he is standing
on and ask him to look around a little. If he is in a courtyard
ask what kind of buildings are around him, are there other people
around, what is he wearing, can he see his hands, what is on them,
can he see his face, his features, his figure as a whole, is he
    standing still or walking?

Keep pressing for details until he is firmly locked in on whatever
environment he now finds himself in. Keep questioning him till
he either tires of it or else he sees clearly and sharply, and in
vivid colour, if he isn't already doing so. Watch the eyelids for
rapid eye and eye-muscle movements. The faster the rate of the
flicker, the more successful is the vision or dream.

And from now on you must play it by ear. Try not to ask suggestible
questions, merely ask what he is seeing or doing then follow up
with relevant questions such as colours, what do you feel, how old
are you, who is around you, what are they wearing, do they speak
to you, in what language or do you understand?

After a while, you should ask the person (they do get bored) if
he has seen all he wants to, or he may become quiet. You may want
to take him on to the experience of death or take him back up 500
metres, do the night, day bit again and bring them down to another
life. Or, they can come back.

They are not in a trance, so just opening eyes is fine. It is merely
a matter of re-locating his consciousness to return to the present.
He should be able to hear all that goes on around him in the room
and still be in his past life.

Keep an account of the time taken. usually the preliminary procedure
takes less than 20 minutes, while the experience itself takes anything
from 1/2 an hour to over an hour as with an ordinary dream, so that
the entire process should take an hour or more. Usually the person
will think he has been away for only a quarter of the time and
will be astonished at just how long the experience lasted.

Enjoy, and please send me some feedback.

RE: .6

Although some of the details are unorthodox, this procedure is well
within the range of standard techniques of hypnotic induction.
Its a bit clumsy as they go, but it contains all of the necessary
    elements for a successful induction.

If the person being "run" is not hypnotized I would have to ask
why they are not, since everything which is normally done to hypnotize
someone *is* being done. The only difference is that the word hypnosis
is not used, and after the induction the full range of hypnotic
    abilities is not used.

The flickering of the eyelids which is described is one of the classic
indications for hypnotic trance of moderate depth. About one subject
out of 5 shows it at some point during moderate depth trance. The
sense of lost time is also strongly characteristic of hypnotic trance.

I *strongly* recommend that people not use this technique without
a highly experienced operator (its OK if they don't call it hypnosis,
but I would want someone in that case who had done this to several
hundred people -- enough so that they will have experience with
all the little problems that can arise). Hypnosis is not particularly
dangerous, but in the hands of an inexperienced operator situations
can arise (maybe one time in a hundred, maybe a bit more than that)
which can be distinctly uncomfortable for the subject and/or operator
    (its a two way street).

I know that some people will be mad at me for being a spoil-sport,
but I couldn't in good conscience let this pass. Consenting adults
may, of course, if they wish, ignore my advice.

404.8Just a suggestion...BTOVT::BEST_GGhost of the AragonTue May 30 1989 17:517
I've achieved the same results and called it hypnosis. I prefer my
method, since it's much simpler - you just relax the subject, suggest
that they are in a trance and you're all set. You could suggest the
stretching exercises to them with the same results.
