397.0. "In your future I see..." by FDCV01::ARVIDSON (Leggo my ego!) Fri Jun 26 1987 19:56

Next week I will be seeing a psychic(SP) and don't know what questions to
ask. I thought of asking her "What questions should I ask?", but...
Let's be serious!! :-)

Anyway, what would be good general questions to ask? Maybe from these
I can look at myself and think of some. If you have seen a psychic what
questions did you ask?

Thanks,
Dan

Seriously, it's usually a good idea to see someone only when you
have a oparticular reason to. Suppose you said "doctor" instead
of "psychic" and you asked the analogous qwuestion. What would
    you expect?

It'd help if you could be more specific as to what sort of "psychic
you plan to see. A Tarot reader? An astrologer? A channeler/medium?
You might ask different questions to each type. [Astrologers,
plamists, and the like might not consider themselves psychics, which
is why the quotes around the term.]

A good general question, though, might be, "What can you tell me
    about myself?"

I usually just ask a general question, such as "What's going
on in my life" or about a specific relationship I have with
another person. It's important to define a time period in
the question (say "in the next year" or "for the next three
    months").

Some psychics will refer to an event or a person. Often it
helps to ask if they have a name or description of that per-
son, to help pin down who the person might be. Ask what time
period they are referring to...(they might say "in the fall"
or maybe even "last May"). Time is one of the hardest things
    to ascertain....

Don't be afraid to ask questions to get a more specific an-
    swer, or more clarity.

Don't forget a tape recorder and blank tape!! (ask permission)

It would be a 'seer'. Susann Owens, by name.

I understand what you say regarding seeing a Doctor, but I have not been
to a psychic, and don't have a high awareness about myself, so I don't
know what to ask.

See?

Then "What can you tell me about myself?" would give you a good
general profile. You might get an interesting response.

I would tend to agree with Steve, but for perhaps some other
reasons. Going to a psychic is really saying "I don't have any
control over my future, tell me what's going on." Or at least it
could be...I would rather take the approach that though I am aware
of creating my own reality I have not fully taken control (dominion)
of it and therefore, what direction does it look like I'm going
in. Then, if the seer is truly seeing, knowing that I therefore
have the ammo I need in order to make the necessary adjustments,
if necessary, to either allow or disallow those particular realities
from manifesting. My friend Lazaris will predict the future, too,
but it is only the CURRENT future, not necessarily the one you wind
up choosing. In other words, that is the future as it stands at
this moment. Notice that it can be changed as you should desire
    to change it.
Also, I would advise you to not take very drastic actions with
    whatever information you should receive.

.....it is a wise one who rules the stars, and fool who is ruled
    by them!

A little off track, but yet it is still relevant. Just some hints
for when you see your 'seer': If she doesn't allow you to bring
in a tape recorder, bring a notebook and pen. If she doesn't even
allow this during the reading, leave it in the car. If that is
the case, the first thing I do upon returning to my car is purge
my memory and write every thing down that I can remember. i will
then leave the notebook out for two days and only go the book when
I remember something and want to jot it down. After that, I tear
out the page and put some place obscure that I rarely look into
(the back of a favorite book, jewelry box, hope chest....)and leave
all that information there. Don't go to it! Leave it there!

I usually come across mine nine months to a year later, by accident.
(I am usually "purging" my house! 8^>) Then I take a look at it,
and see what "coincidentally" happened. It is very interesting!

    Good luck!

I try to have a two or three particular subjects in mind. I usually
want the reader to tell me something I don't already know about those
subjects or at the very least, confirm something I suspect. As far
as asking them to tell me about myself, I don't usually do that unless I
think they can tell me something about myself that I'm not aware of.
Some readers need a starting point. Give them a topic like your job,
a relationship, etc and see what they do with it.
