To a certain extent, if any symbol helps you make a "connection,"
it could be termed "occult" jewelry. However, usually, that's reserved
for such things as regular talismans.

P.S.: The bat, while considered mysterious and aligned with the
forces of evil in Western European (and derivatively, U.S.) culture,
it's considered a symbol of good luck in the Orient.

Sounds like it'd make a dandy Hallowe'en decoration

Me and my boyfriend have pagan-star pendants. (I wear 2 as earrings)
We got them at a little shop that favors jewelry, crystals, etc.
The person who made them only made a few, and now they're
unavailable. The best feature is the actual physical feeling
we get when we wear them. I usually get almost nausous, and
a surge of adrenaline. His affects him similiar. We're sure
that a little magic was used by the artist...

This is also a good part of town to find anything from bats to
fairies (a personal fav.) in jewelry, and other assorted goodies.

Are you feeling all right? I don't think I'd want to wear something
    that almost nauseates me ...

    RE: .3, .5 (Theresa, Steve)

If I had a piece of jewelry that made me nauseous, yet wanted to
wear it, I would do a *thorough* cleaning on it first.

If the maker indeed used some kind of magic that I reacted to in
this way, I would want no part of it.

227.7It May Not Be As Bad As You ThinkNATASH::BUTCHARTMon Feb 02 1987 12:3540
    Re: .3 & all the replies to it . . .

I know that all of you cautionaries out there are rightly concerned,
but consider that even a sensation as (supposedly) distinct as nausea
is not always a bad thing. There is the kind of nausea that
results from being truly ill, and the kind of _almost_ queasiness
that is part of the adrenaline surge. It is very much a part of
stage fright, a feeling that I, as a performer, am very familiar
with. It can go anywhere from the "butterflies" in the stomach
sensation to actual physical retching (Laurence Olivier supposedly
    still has to throw up before and during stage performances offstage;
but I bet no one ever advised him to give up acting . . .)

Anyway, the light "heaves" that accompany the adrenaline surge (that
surge does, I believe cause your stomach to react physically) may
or may not be caused by malevolent energy. It is certainly probably
caused by very _powerful_ energy. If the energy received from the
pieces feels otherwise good, i.e., one likes being hyper-charged
and is strong enough to handle it without feeling burnt, the nausea
is not a big deal, just goes with the territory. When dancing,
the high received from personifying the music and the applause of
    the audience more than compensates me for any offstage queasiness;
    maybe this is something similar.

Perhaps what the noter of reply .3 might find good is to find ways
to (a) learn more about the energy that seems to be generated, (b)
how it can be perhaps used to best advantage and (c) how to protect
ones self from possible undesirable effects. To continue my
performance analogy, I have suffered for years from something I
call post performance crash syndrome. It comes, it seems, from
from having my adrenals overstimulated and the resulting "hangover"
leaves me fatigued, head-achy, and shaky. (You can get the same
effect by drinking too much coffee.) Nothing a few days of rest
rest and proper diet doesn't cure, but it's nice to know that it's
a natural reaction, and will disappear with proper TLC. You may
need to learn how to deal with a similar reaction to the pendants.

Good luck with your pendants; they do sound interesting . . .

Thanks for the replies about our pendants. I've been 'out of touch'
    for awhile.

re.7 Thanks Marcia, you described how I feel about the energy.

My boyfriend however, is a Wiccan and knows exactly how to use and
    direct the energy.

Needless to say, I don't wear them every day...
