| Chromatherapy is both useful and stimulating. Using colors, however,
is not as clearcut as some people would think -- what works best
for you works.
In situations where people are physically ill, some get very good
results using brilliant scarlet, signifying vitality; others do
well with a golden color, as from the healing rays of the sun.
For some, a pink color can produce feelings of friendship; for others,
white is better. Some use a light lavendar for spiritual peace;
others use in intense green.
In general, a good rule is to look at pure (preferably brilliant)
samples of various colors and see what feelings they evoke. Make
up your own table, and use whichever colors work best for a specific
situation for you.

Colors have a frequency with can affect the subtle energy bodies
of living matter. The body has energy frequencies which it throws
and therefore helps produce what some refer to as the 'aura' -
these particular auric colors are often affected by the emotional
state of the person and subject to constant change. Each frequency
(color) can produce a response as it interacts with other frequencies
in the subtle energy stystems of the body and therefore
means/represents different things to different people. There are,
of course other aspects of the subtle energies but for simplicity
sake! Some time ago a study on how color affects violent prisoners
was reported in TIME mag., someone had shown the calming effect
of placing violent individuals in an all pink room. Within 1/2
hr their whole attitude had changed and they had become peaceful.
Others have tested this theory by wearing certain colors and noting
how one feels as they change the color they wear. How many times
have we put on a certain color and 'just not felt right in it?'
yet other days it's the perfect choice. Perhaps it's a haromonization
or conflict with our personal system which explains it... There has,however,
been some disagreement on how long the effects of 'color' remain.
My guess it that one could trace it to the 'auric' field and it's
shifts and strength of emotion.
Steve's suggestion was a good one, test colors for yourself and
use a pure color, you may be surprised what you notice.

by the color of their skin - somehow we see and feel the vibrance
of health, even the phrase is noteworthy.

| The following is one system of colors, their related harmonic, the area of
the body they affect and personal characteristics for each.
COLOR - RED
Properties - Intense love, anger, abrupt change in the sense of life and
death.
MUSICAL NOTE - C
Primary organs/systems - Heart and circulatory system.
Personal Characteristics -
Universal in nature, nurturing, one who sustains. Highly motivated with
strong potential for physical success and spiritual achievement.
Arbitrator, one who seeks harmony and balance and has the potential for the
balancing of yin and yang energies.
COLOR - ORANGE
Properties - Vitality, integration of dynamic physical and spiritual
change, increased personal power and ability to approach new
understanding.
MUSICAL NOTE - D
Primary organs/systems - liver, gallbladder, pancreas, muscular system.
Personal characteristics -
Prone toward exploration yet often plagued by self doubts. Sees
"divine" possibilities for people and circumstances but needs to seek the
appropriate vehicles for successful fulfillment. Can be caught in periods
of depression, often seeking the comfort of like-minded people. A very
strong group participant who can successfully develop into group
leadership. Personal life may not be completely happy until one finds a
means of identifying and combining divergent aspects of life.
COLOR - YELLOW
Properties - Intellectual orientation, pragmatic, competence through
analysis, replenishment through the sun's energy.
MUSICAL NOTE - F
Primary organs/systems - Brain and nervous system.
Personal Characteristics -
One who tends to initiate, dominant energy but not abrasive. An
achiever. One who is motivated initially by the external to later discover
that there is a deep connection to the internal.
COLOR - GREEN
Properties - Revitalization and healing of physical body. Strength from
connection to plant kingdom.
MUSICAL NOTE - G
Primary organs/systems - Esophagus, stomach, small intestines, skeletal
system, reproductive organs.
Personal Characteristics -
One who is drawn to life and the living process. One who is nourished
by being outside or in an outside job. The spiritual quest comes easily to
this person, usually through an initial experience of physical dysfunction.
One who is sought after by groups, especially well-defined ones which
emphasize higher ideals.
COLOR - BLUE
Properties - Peace, serenity, calmness, passivity in pursuit of goal,
susceptibility to spiritual development.
MUSICAL NOTE - B
Primary organs/systems - Lungs.
Personal Characteristics -
One who eases tensions and brings calmness and tranquillity to people
and situations. A strong potential for spiritual development with the
impetus coming from a transformative experience. One who is often swayed by
others' opinions and will be initially enticed into less than fulfilling
situations. However, the path of the heart will prevail and a truer path
will be chosen.
COLOR - INDIGO
Properties - Spiritual desire, intuitive, sense of needing to search even
thought it requires difficult personal decisions.
MUSICAL NOTE - A
Primary organs/systems - Spleen, lymphatics, thyroid, kidneys, pituitary,
adrenal glands.
Personal Characteristics -
One who leans heavily toward the spiritual, often leading to a monastic
life. Balanced but drawn into situations where personal power and magnetism
can cause a change in a situation involving higher moral codes. Often is
seen as distant or aloof, but this is merely a protection from the
intensity with which situations are experienced.
COLOR - VIOLET
Properties - Advanced spiritual development, extreme awareness. Integration
of physical, emotional and spiritual.
MUSICAL NOTE - E
Primary organs/systems - Spinal cord, pineal body.
Personal Characteristics -
Universal Note, harmony of purpose aligned with physical endeavor.
Total awareness of physical body in relation to higher levels of
consciousness. This energy is a perfect balance to whatever energy it
contacts.

| I realise the time frame is over twelve months, but I have a query,
and I figured this was the topic.
There are seven audio cassettes in a set called The Reality of Colour.
I have spoken to the New Age Supplier here, Aust, and they are not
available. The name of the supplier in the States is the Christ
Ministry Foundation in Santa Cruz.
Two questions, are those tapes available in Boston anywhere and
are there any other colour meditation audio cassettes available
in the Boston area that you could suggest?
I have a workmate going over to both Boston and California in a
couple of weeks and she is going to look at some of the tapes.
A big help would be the address for the Christ Ministry in Santa
Cruz.
