78.0. "The Book of Thoth" by 26759::ROTHBERG (That's not a bug, it's a feature!) Thu Feb 06 1986 06:42

                I was givin a pointer to this notesfile from the
                books conference. I'm looking for a book called
                'The Book of Thoth', I believe it was written by
                Allister Crowley. It explains how the Thoth
                tarrow cards work and how to use them. I loaned
                out my copy ages ago and I have a feeling that I
                will never see it again. I have the cards, but
                without the book, they're pretty useless. Thanx.

78.1I think it's still in printCFIG1::DENHAMBeam me up ScottieThu Feb 06 1986 20:052
  I believe it is still in print. I've obtained a copy fairly
  recently.
78.2Where'd you find it?PFLOYD::ROTHBERGThat's not a bug, it's a feature!Mon Feb 10 1986 11:048
                Where did you manage to get ahold of it? I've
                been lokking around all day today in new and used
                book stores. One of the owners said he had seen
                it a few months ago pass his way but it has since
                passed right out his door.

78.3I had no problemCFIG1::DENHAMBeam me up ScottieMon Feb 10 1986 22:107
  I found it in an occult bookstore in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  It has probably been 3-4 months since I got mine. If you'ld
  like I can talk to the owners and see where they are getting
  theirs. Perhaps you can order one or have someone in your area
  order a copy for you.

    My local bookstore, The Aquarian Age, has several copies. I have
    also seen it in several other psychically related places (The Center
    for Inner Vision, for instance). Of course, these being in Houston
    Texas probably won't help you much.

    I will add the ISBN, publisher and last printing info when I get
    home to my copy. If I can help out in any way, let me know.

78.5Almost current Books in Print infoPBSVAX::COOPERTopher CooperTue Feb 11 1986 05:4119
I checked in Books in Print (1984-1985 edition). At that time there were
two editions available. Both are 287 pages illustrated, paperback and
cost $8.95. The LC catalog number is 79-16399.

The first edition listed is from U.S. Games System and has ISBN (International
Standard Book Number) 0-913866-12-1. It was published in 1977.

The second one is from Weiser and has ISBN 0-87728-268-4 and was published
in 1974. It has the entry "(orig.)" which according to the table of
abbreviations means "original text, not a reprint". My guess is that in this
case this means that it was either published from the original plates, or
more likely, as a photographic replica of the original edition.

The publisher, ISBN and price is enough information for any moderate to large
size book store (and most small ones) to order it for you. They will probably
want to check with their own, probably more current, edition of Books in Print
anyway. They might (but usually don't) charge a small order charge.
