282.0. "Day after the draft ROY contest" by SHALOT::MEDVID (the infinite complexities of love) Thu Jun 28 1990 15:53

Here's your chance to pick next year's ROY from last night's NBA draft.
No cash prizes, but look at it this way, you don't have to pay taxes on
    your pride.

I'll take Loy Vaught. Who knows?

Nazz,

This assumes that he even makes a team. Lebo, as we all know, was a token
effort my Larry Brown to get himself back into the Tar Heel fold. After
hiring Mr Manning to get Danny and then leaving a fellow Tar Heel coach
on probation, Larry saw his chances of ever going back home to Chapel
Hill disappear. As soon as he realized that Lebo was not going to help
him in the long run, and certainly couldn't help him with the short haul,
Lebo was set free of his burden to be the next Jerry West.

Send Harper to Boston!!!!! I'll help pay his salary ;^)

he's a one man break, shit he could score 6 points in the time it takes
Larry to get from end to end ;^) definately one of my favorite players.
I'd also like to see the Couz chew on a few loads of SLOF(tm) that he
spewed by Ron when he came into the league....

"relieve him of the burden of being the next Jerry West"

it's 15 minute later and I'm still rollin over this line...

Bob, are you serious about Campbell? I was seriously depressed when
the Lakers picked Campbell instead of Oliver Wednesday night. Ever
since, I've been trying to warm up to the idea but I'm having a tough
time Can you give me some reason to hope that he might be an
improvement over Mychal Thompson in the backup center role? Sure would
    be nice.

Otherwise, I second the Bo Kimble ROY prediction. The Clips could be a
very exciting team in the second half of the season.

The only way Dee Brown will lead a parade is if he travels to another
city and runs in front of everyone. The guy will sit on the bench
next to Micheal Smith, this year's parade-leader, and watch the
Celts make the playoffs and exit early.

Tyrone Hill/Xavier drafted No. 11 by Golden State.

I thought he ate Georgetown alive. He is playing for a fair
team that has a real front court need and has one excellent
      coach in Nellie.

It's a real dark horse, but given the circumstances he has the
oppurtunity to enjoy, I'll give him a shot.

Only 2 or 3 have picked Gary Payton who will easily win ROY honors
as well a spot on the All Defensive team. I'm surprised. But, then
some folks think the west coast means the banks of the Mississippi
    River..... ;^)

No, some of us just think the "College Player of the Year" should
score more than 5 points in the conference tournament. :-)
