White Sox are on the road. Cubs are home with Montreal on August
5, off on August 6, host St Louis on August 7-9 (that's Chicago's
big rival along with the Mets, tickets will be tough) and they are
in New York on August 10. You may also want to consider the 90
minute or so drive to Milwaukee, they are home with the White Sox
on August 5 but then hit the road to Minnesota and Kansas City for
the rest of your Midwestern visit.

A real drought for the Phillies in that time. Their only home games
are with San Francisco on August 14-16. They're in Montreal August
10-12, at San Diego August 17-19, at Los Angeles August 20-22 and
at San Francisco August 23-26. At least they're not home at exactly
the same time that the Orioles are.

like to take in a game.

    Thanks,

A bunch of friends and I are planning a trip to Comsikey Park this
summer to see it before it is Comiskey Parking Lot. We plan on going during
the week to see the White Sox play the Red Sox on September 13th. I have
a few questions that hopefully somebody can help me with...

1.) How tough is it to get midweek night game tickets for the
	     White Sox?

2.) How much should I expect to spend for a decent seat?

3.) Is there a phone-in ticket number that I can call to order
tickets and have them mailed to me here in Mass?

4.) Are the Cubbies in town that week, or the weekend after?

Repeat questions 1 - 3 but replace Sox with Cubbies.

Thanks for any help,
kevin
252.8The best business trip I ever had.SHALOT::MEDVIDthe infinite complexities of loveFri Jun 22 1990 18:1227
I can answer questions 1 and 2 for you because I was on a business trip
to Chicago in mid-July '89 and got to go to both Comiskey and Wrigley.

Comiskey - wasn't tough at all to get a ticket. If you can't get a
seat down by the base paths then I recommend getting a seat in the
outfield. The seats along the foul line aren't the greatest. As I
recall, it was a moderate price ($10). I would call ahead, though, if
    you can get the number.

Wrigley - Call now! I went to a night game and got an SRO ticket for
only $5. Since I was by myself, it wasn't too difficult to find a lone
empty seat...and boy what a seat it was...right where the right field
line meets the corner wall...front row. Make sure you buy a
knockwurst...it was one of the best meals of my life...honest...of
course a lot had to do with atmosphere.

Both parks - Get there good and early because traffic is terrible.
Take the El to Wrigley if you can. Drive to Comiskey because I
wouldn't want to get off at the wrong station in south Chicago. There
are some neigborhoods there that even the police don't go into after
nightfall. Parking at Comiskey is terrible because everything is torn
up for the new stadium. Parking at Wrigley is non-existent. If you
can't find a place to park on the street legally, park anywhere and
take the $25 ticket. It's either that or pay $25 to park in someone's
driveway. I'd rather see it go to the city than to some jerk. Again,
if you can, take the El to Addison Street.

If you happen to go to a night game at Wrigley, be sure to watch the
street signs for parking restrictions or your car may be towed.
Parking within approx 1/2 mile radius around the stadium requires a
    neighborhood pass.

Agree with .-1, park in the loop or lincoln park and hop on the EL to
    addison.

Tickets? If you are willing to spend 20 minutes looking you can
usually get them from scalpers - sometimes at or near face value.
There are some professionals out there who charge about double, but
every once in awhile you can find great seats for face value. Just
stand near the EL Stop, near the Cubby Bear Lounge or at Murphys. The
corner souvenier vendors also have tons of tickets but usually want
    quite a bit.

I use to live a block away and got many tickets this way. Its a bit of
a hassle but better than standing room or Ueker seats.

Monday nights at Commisky have been half-price nights in the past.
Never a problem to get tickets.
