125.0. "Meaningless MLB makeup games...." by TAV02::CHAIM (Semper ubi Sub ubi .....) Wed Jan 24 1990 08:29

Please correct me if I'm totally wrong, but I seem to recall that at the end of
the season any makeup games which could NOT possibely affect the final
standings are NOT played. Now, does this apply to individual records as well?

For example, let's say Player X has 59 homers and could break/tie the season
homer record were he allowed to play in a meaningless makeup game. Would the
game be played or would he be out of luck?

Thanks,

Cb.

If player X had 59 Home Runs with a chance to tie or break such a record the
game would not be meaningless. Baeeball would be S.O.L. not to play it.
                                                                 Mark

If X had 59 home runs, he should sign with the Mariners and forget
    about Hoops.

    Hope that helped.

My favorite still has to be the PsychoMan himself. Why *I* might
even shave the beard and get a Fred Roberts haircut!
