Hello,

We have a lot of problems to make a TKZ61 working well.
The device is attached to an hsj40.
The TKZ61 config in the hsj40 is : TKZ60CL 0611.
The HSJ40 is running the firmware V27J-0, hardware version H06.
Operating system is VMS 6.2.
The medias are coming from a TA90-E tape drive.

Very often during vms backup operations the device becomes unknown
in the hsj40 itself due to tape errors. A clear unknown <container_name> makes
the device again available.
And from time to time after TKZ60 errors, the HSJ isn't reachable via it's 
console port or set host/dup ...
When a problem arises, the offending media works perfectly well onto a TA90-E
tape drive.

Is the entry 3408 in the magtape conference relevant to this problem.
If yes, how can we get the latest TKZ firmware version ?

Vendor is aware of problem and has made a fix available.  The field should order

this fix directly.

Problem Statement:
TKZ60-FA has Positioning Problem at EOT using TA90 media.

Problem resolution:
TKZ60 firmware patch contains the fix for this problem.

How to order patch software:

Contact the vendor directly, as the upgrade is not in our logistics stream yet.

The vendor will be happy to supply the firmware.

Request the "TKZ60 Tape Drive Flash Upgrade Firmware", DEC Part Number
29-32297-01.
A revision number had not yet been assigned as of this writing.  However, the
most recent flash code is known (produced since 7/17/96) is known to contain the
fix.  Carrie is aware of the correct version to be distributed.

Please post this in appropriate field databases, as others are likely to
encounter it.  Thank you.
