I have had a look at some other references in this notesfile,
but did not see a reference to my query here; apologies
in advance if this has been asked before.
I noticed that the leader tape in the TZ88's within a TL812
jukebox are different to the TZ88 leader tape part number
(70-28824-01) in that the broken leader tape removed has
an additional hole (the same distance to the right of the
central rectangular hole as the circular hole to the left
of the rectangular hole), and also has four 'scores' like
gramophone record grooves running linearly along each side,
ending at the rightmost hole.
The 70-28824-01 (which is the same part which is fitted
in TF85, and is listed in the TZ88 parts listing) is working
OK, but I was wondering if this is the correct part, bearing
in mind the apparant difference as described; and if not,
what would be the required leader-tape part number for
a TZ88 operating within a TL812.

All TZ88 and TZ87-AV, TZ87N-AV have grooved leader. This is done by
design to prolong head life in heavily swaps environment like tape
library. You can replace non-grooved leader with grooved leader BUT
DO NOT replace grooved with non-grooved.
Contact logistic (MCS) for correct part number.

The -AV variant seems to be the pointer as regards the
grooved leader, I have been unable to find reference to
TZ88-AV but have found TZ87N-AV in the TL810 parts listing,
which gives the leader tape part number as 70-28824-02
(I had the -01 variant which is not grooved).
I will order a 70-28824-02 and update here whether this
is grooved.

We could not obtain a 70-28824-02 but as per note 3675
the part number for the grooved leader tape is 29-33443-01.
I have a 29-33443-01 in my hand at the moment and can confirm that
this is indeed the correct part.
