566.10Roenick's knee gets buckled again...PKGSRV::JANESLester Janes dtn 474-6631Mon Apr 28 1997 21:0711
    Did anyone see Roenick go down?? Very reminisent of when Hatcher kneed
    him two years ago. I don't know who it was that went knee-to-knee with
    Roenick, but the replay showed Roenick's knee bending wayyyy back. Its
    the same knee that was injured before. He was helped off and that
    should be it for him.

    I don't know who hit Roenick or even if was intentional, but my take on
    it is that if two players go knee-to-knee, they should both be down on
    the ice injured. Unless one of the players was prepared for it.

566.11I have to admit I let out a big "Whoa!!!!!!"KAOFS::WATTERSMon Apr 28 1997 21:177
    Les,
    	Roenick kinda 'speed-wobbled' before the hit; I don't think HE
    even knew where he was going. The other guy, didn't go out of his way
    to knee him (like Bondra did earlier this year, or how Marchment does
    all the time).

    Yeah - JR's knee in slo-mo was hard to watch. Too bad, this has been a
    great series to watch and he's been flying.

    (I can't agree that Bondra did his on purpose though...)
566.13FSCORE::B_LEURYTue Apr 29 1997 01:006
    Drury is not known to be a dirty player. It sure was ugly to watch
    especially in slow-mo. To make it worst, I have Roenick in our office
    pool :-(

    Bernie.

    re -.1
    	Bernie, it's great knowing you care very much about the players
    you have in your pool. If I'd be an NHL players, I'd want to be picked
    in your pool.

    Andy,

    	If you were an NHL player, I doubt anybody would waste a pool pick
    on you..!!!:*))

566.16another coach fired...POLAR::MAJORWed May 07 1997 00:005
    The Coyotes fired coach Don Hay today along w/ assistant-coach Paul
    McLean.

    Ray.

566.17FSCORE::B_LEURYWed May 07 1997 01:315
    Hmmm...I thought Don Hay had done a pretty good job. Too bad Roenick
    hurt his knee. Hay would still be employed 'cause the Coyotes would
    still be in the playoffs.

    Bernie.
566.18POLAR::MAJORWed May 07 1997 18:097
    It is very strange. In fact, I find this firing a lot more stranger
    than Tremblay's resignation last week. After firing John Paddock
    earlyer in the year, Bobby Smith fires the coach he hired just a year
    ago...or is it Paddock who hired Hay??

    Ray.

566.19sKAOFS::WATTERSWed May 07 1997 18:145
    Boston would be crazy NOT to pick up Hay. He's great w/ a young team
    (ie. TC Jr, Kamloops Blazers), unlike Keenan.

    Andy
566.20correct, Dennis mon ami?!?!:*)POLAR::MAJORWed May 07 1997 18:174
    I'd rather see Keenan in Boston...I think Dennis also thinks this
    way...:*))

    RE: -1

      I think I'd rather have Kasper back instead of Keenan. ;-( Keenan
    to me is a "cancer" to a team. Players nowadays don't like the
    heavy-handed approach which is his style. Isn't he the same guy
    who signed Joe Murphy to a $3 million a year contract?! That shows
    you how much he knows.

    RE: 18 >>is it Paddock who hired Hay??

    Yes, Paddock did hire Hay just shortly before he left the team.

    Bernie.
