Could we get more info on the battery unit? Two questions:
1. what is the amp hour rating on the supply,
2. how can one detect "AC power going down"? I suspect
that you have to look at shelf ok.

Hope the two knowledgeable individuals are back from vacation.

    Gim,

In your visits here to CXO you've probably met them - Bill Miller and
Kevin Lonergan. I've forwarded your reply to them, so you probably
will get a direct reply. (I think they are back from that vacation,
but Bill was out today tending a sick child!)

However, there's been such a low demand for the SBB BBU, it may not
even be an active part anymore. Did you ever do an OEM version? I
    don't remember....

The OEM version is the same as the on-base but in a different color.

There's been a renewed interest in a battery unit. It appears that
flushing the cache in (future or OEM) controllers may be simpler than
trying to backup the cache. Having a "AC Going down" signal would be
    nice.
