Hi, I have tried to replace TCP for DOS 6.1.1 using MS TCP 32 on Windows for Workgroup 3.1.1 platform. I have get the PC connected to SCO server via tcp as well as netbios ( SMB shared drive). But when I tried to use PC local print, the print job is spool at the SCO server and never send to the printer which attach to the PC. Can PC local print work with MS TCP 32? Is there any special setting I need to lookup for in WFW 3.11 setup? Hope someone can help to clear the mystery. Regards Heng [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

372.1 | traceversion to check startup | TLAV02::RUDI | Tue Mar 11 1997 13:37 | 15 | |
Heng, product should probably work, but don't know if someone ever tried it on WfW/MSTCP. Also with Windows 3.10 you would start PCP after starting the network, but before starting windows. So how do you start it now ? Anyway suggest you start traceversion to check it starts up correctly. Also use sniffer/IRIS to check what happens when you try to print on the local PC printer. You should see either querry for the NetBIOS name or a connect. Cheers, rudi |
