3117.0. "OBB on Win" by NNTPD::"blattern@mail.dec.com" (Nicolas) Wed Apr 30 1997 17:15

Hi

Customer with DEC/EDI 3.1 Server ,Informix DB and OBB 2.5B
Server works with 5 Clients with no problem.
Thay have 2 CC. One works fine the other gets following errors,
(it worked fine before these !)

OBB on PC V2.5A, with Win 3.11, CC 16 bit

An OBB System exception occured
This can arise due to incorrect config. on your PC or ... Server.

OBB_MSGFAIL (f), could not format error message: 048B800A (hex)
048B800A,
048B9FFA,
-OBB_MSGFAIL (f), could not format error message: 048B9FFA (hex)

As I said it worked before, no change was made, ODBC still works,
only Error-log, and Make Cache doesen't work.

Any idea about thes OBB errors ??

Regards

Nicolas

Where are these errors reported?

To the PC screen? or on the Server error log?

Thanks

They look like the PC, Mark. I recognise the "This can arise due to..."
    message.

One possibility is that it looks as though ObjectBroker is not
installed correctly - try deleting the ObjectBroker directory and
    reinstalling it.

3117.3Some thoughtsMETSYS::POADhttp://www.digital.com/info/ediThu May 01 1997 14:0219
    Nicolas,

Yes, try de-installing ObjectBroker on the PC completely, and then
re-instal it. I assume you've done all the post-installation tasks for
the PC: added the 'decedi_pc' service in the TCP/IP services file and
the Objectbroker proxies on the Server for this PC are correct.

You could also completely de-instal CommandCenter (make sure everything
in the C:\EDICC directory has gone) and re-instal it, in case
something had got messed up there.

Does the PC always give these errors whenever you try to do an
Objectbroker operation, or does it sometimes work? Can you run the
    ObjectBroker Network tester?

You say it worked before. What do you mean by this - both PCs used to
work and one has stopped working now?

3117.4Problem solvedNNTPD::"blattern@mail.dec.com"NicolasTue May 06 1997 13:3325
Hi everybody

many thanks for your replay.

As i said the CC was running before but it crashed and from there it did not
work any more just gave alvay the error message.

After differnt tries: OBB stop/start, dec/edi stop/start, server reboot,
reinstallation from the PC OBB, restore from the WIN and OBB environment on
the PC it still didn't work.

Now how could we solve these:

OBB PC is producing in the CC subdir files like these:

      Obb_0002.new and Obb_0002.tmp

only after having deleted all these file the CC worked again !!!

Hope can help somebody in the future

Hi,

I imagine that's an OBB problem.

They were going to resolve that. I thought it was done in V2.5A. Best
to ask in Objectbroker_development.

What was the problem though? How many files were there? had you
simply run out of disk space?

Marc

It is an 2.5A OBB Client.
There were many files about 30-40, but we didn't have disk space problem.
I think it is more something witch didn't reset correct.
The server was an OBB 2.7.
