3073.0. "orbguicmderr, unknown commandcode received" by UTRTSC::SMEETS (Workgroup support) Mon Mar 24 1997 12:48

Hi,

Customer running DEC/EDI V3.1A UNIX with Oracle Rdb V6.1-ECO4 reported the
following problem.

In the Cockpit there were 10 documents with status FAILED. He tried to cancel
the first document which resulted in the following:

Document ... succesfully canceled

Warning: Failed to inform appropriate decedi server component

DECEDI_LOOK showed the following:

rnf, record not found
orbguicmderr, unknown commandcode received

Until now this has only happened once.

Can anybody explain the above ?

Thanks,

Martin

    Martin,

The orbguicmderr error is written to the log when there is a problem
notifying a server coponent after a GUI operation. What is the FAILED
status, e.g. Failed to Convert etc? This will indicate which component
    is being notified.

Are all the Server components up and running OK? None have crashed or
    stalled?

Does the customer continue OK after this - does it happen with other
    resets or just occasionally?

Hi Chris,

After this the customer could work without any problems. Canceling the other
9 documents wasn't a problem.

Hi Chris,

I just spoke to the customer and unfortunally he couldn't remember if this was
a document or a Transmission File, inbound or outbound and the failing reason.

The next time this shows up the customer will gather all neccessary datails.

Thanks,

Martin
