3059.0. "PEDI connect-id and invalid OR-address" by ATYISA::LEBRUN () Fri Mar 14 1997 21:39

        There was some debate in 2987.x regarding the non-keeping of
        "invalid OR-addressed" incoming messages in the PEDI gateway and
        the fact than:

        - we have no trace of them in any DEC/EDI error directory as it
        was valid with the X400 gateway (envelope and contents were
        saved)

        - No direct way to REPROCESS them in DEC/EDI because finally we
        defined the correct comnnection-id

        As a business statement now we should have some improvements in
        the product:

        - Not to depend so much of another product here MAILBUS400 to
        keep at agent level a back-up of all messages to be able to
        reprocess them

        - Not to depend from our EDI/business partner to ask in a period
        of test to resend a message because we didn't define it correctly
        in DEC/EDI: That should be done from DEC/EDI itself, easily ...

        There was another debate i won't reopen about the strictness of
        validation of a connect-id regarding the OR-address contents but
        that could be accepted if FLEXIBILITY is given to the customers
        above

        Regards,
        JM

3059.2XTUA can do itIJSAPL::DEWIJKGJ from the DutchlandsMon Mar 17 1997 17:199
    Hi Jean-marie,

    There is no standard way of doing this.
    there is an unofficial useragent for testpurposes that is also able
    to reinject messages.
    This software is called XTUA, have a look in the MB400 conference or
    ask your MB400 supporters.
