3053.0. "Wfw V3.11 Cockpit and SQl-F-SYNTAX_ERR" by UTRTSC::SMEETS (Workgroup support) Wed Mar 12 1997 22:37

Hi,

Customer running DEC/EDI V3.1A with Oracle RDB V6.1-.. reports the following
onsite reproducible problem with Cockpit V3.1A for Windows V3.11.

1. Select the summary view
2. specify archive as source
3. Specify a Since and Before date in the date range tab
4. click on OK
5. Double click on the Transmission file Total
6. Specify either "Partner Id", "Priority" or "Connection ID"
7. Click on OK and th result is the error message "%SQL-F-SYNTAX_ERR, syntax
   error"

If no date range is specified or only a since or a before date than the problem
doesn't show up.

On my Windows95 cockpit with Oracle 7 as database I don't have any problems.

Any idea,

Martin

    Martin,

    See 2951

    It also occurs on Informix, after the upgrade DECEDI V3.1A, the
    problem is still there.

3053.2Make sure its not 6.1METSYS::HELLIARhttp://samedi.reo.dec.com/Thu Mar 13 1997 11:067
    Martin,

    Please confirm this is 6.1-3 for both Oracle Rdb and the Oracle SQL
    Services. Vanilla 6.1 had various bugs including a strange thing around
    the PC's and time ranges.

Hi Graham,

I personally think this is client related. I just had a talk with GJ and it
seems the problem only shows up on Windows V3.x Cockpit clients.

    Martin,

    Have reproduced this here, it's a Cockpit bug. I can reproduce it on
    16bit & 32bit with OracleRDB. It will be fixed in V3.2.

    If customer feels they need this fixed before then can you raise an
    IPMT on it.

Hi Chriss,

I'll raise an IPMT.
