Hi Graham,

A little folow-up on this, will run DEC/EDI itself on a C2 system ?

Thank,

Martin
2953.13Do you mean enhanced?SYSTEM::HELLIARhttp://samedi.reo.dec.com/Fri Jan 31 1997 00:2813
    Martin,

    From memory, I switched on 'enhanced security' using secsetup, which I
    believe is another name for C2 security, DEC/EDI worked in this mode,
    but as we have not been certified against any security model then at
    best DEC/EDI would be a security risk in a true C2 environment.

    I also believe (Colin Munt hit these) that there were come gotcha's
    which could occur depending on whether enhanced security was on before
    DEC/EDI was installed and configured (Colins case) or after (as in my
    case).

2953.14Yes, I mean enhanced securityUTRTSC::SMEETSWorkgroup supportFri Jan 31 1997 10:2419
    Hi Graham,

    yes, I mean enhanced security.

    I've to install DEC/EDI on our internal system which has enhanced
    security already switched on, so I will run into Colin's gotcha's.
    One of them will probably be that the account decedi has to be added
    manually to /etc/passwd. The same applies to the group decedi.

    Do you know more of these gotcha's ?

    Regards,

    Martin
2953.15Thats all I knowSYSTEM::HELLIARhttp://samedi.reo.dec.com/Mon Feb 03 1997 13:488
    Martin,

    The 'decedi' account and group entries was the only one
    that Colin mentioned...you might want to ask him if he
    took it any further.

    Graham
