35.0. ""f" in show system" by MDR01::NIEVES (MCS Madrid) Tue Mar 04 1997 02:20

    Can someone tell me what does the letter "F" mean, doing a
    $ show system, the last column, which is the type of process.
    I read about N (network) S (subprocess) B (batch), but a customer has
    F and wants to know wat it is:

35.1there is no 'F' in the last column of SHOW SYSTEMHAN::HALLEVolker Halle MCS @HAO DTN 863-5216Tue Mar 04 1997 09:5615
    Nieves,

    I'm sorry, but I've even looked up the sources on the V7.1 source disks
    in AXP71RESD:<SHOW.LIS>SHOWSYS.LIS and there IS NO 'F' in the sts_buf
    parameter.

    So the 'F' is either a misunderstanding or ??? I've found a NEW code of
    'M' for multi-threading, but this should be OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 (and
    higher).

    Volker.

    PS: Please consider to post OpenVMS related questions in VAXAXP::VMSNOTES

    Volker,

    this is VMS 6.1, and the state is the one of a batch process that gets
    into RWMBX, and although it's strange it's an "F".

35.3it was "S"MDR01::NIEVESMCS MadridTue Mar 04 1997 22:518
    Sorry,

    this was a missunderstanding, it was "S" not "F", the customer had a
    "lapsus".

    Thanks,
