    Just as an information point, I obtained four quotes for a Class III
    receiver, hitch and harness in the last few days:

    	Jayco dealer, Forrest Marine, MA:	$350+
        Jeep dealership:			$300
    	Uhaul, via Jeep dealership		$275
        Uhaul, avoiding Jeep dealership		$210
        VIP (Reese, d-i-y)			$190

    Pays to shop around, and the car dealerships have a nice thing going
    with the hitch shops by the look of it.

38.28Too cheap to pay retail.MILKWY::JACQUESFri Mar 21 1997 16:2611
    Last year after I bought my camper, I picked up a Want-Advertizer and
    got lucky on the first try. I found a class III hitch for my Dodge
    Dakota for $60 and a Class II "hidden hitch" for my Dodge Caravan
    for $50. Installed them both myself. Of course, the wiring harnesses
    cost me additional money, but I still saved a bundle.

	Worth a try! There are no moving parts on a hitch, or anything
    else that can wear-out. Why buy new if you can find used?
