    There are a number of guidebooks to colorado rivers, the best probably
    being "colorado whitewater".  If you plan to travel much, a better
    value might be "western whitewater", which covers the whole western US.
    
    Your best bet for kayaking partners is to contact the pikes peak
    whitewater club.  Look up Dan Dunphy in the phonebook; I know he's a
    member.
