300.0. "Question on conferencing from the WWW" by NETRIX::"gallagher@rtp4me.rtp.dec.com" (Ed Gallagher) Wed Mar 05 1997 21:01

OK, now, don't laugh...

I just got into the notes conference from the Web for the first time today,
and I'm havin' some hard time figurin' out how to maneuver. I've obviously
figured out how to enter a note, but where in this NEW technology do you
set the "seen" flag for notes you've already read?

Howdy Ed.

You gotta use your keypad, at least that's how I do it. KEYPAD , (comma)
is the NEXT_UNSEEN.

To set all of this nonsense seen just type in at the prompt

	Notes> SET SEEN

From then on NEXT_UNSEEN will take over.

    TTom,

I'm not sure that will help him. He is using an internet interface
that is probably windows based. The keypad commands might not work.

    TTom,

Thanks for the replies, but as Marc pointed out I'm trying to figure
out this NEW interface thru the internet.
After I posted this note I found a recently dated reply in another
conference that implied they haven't implemented that feature yet.
They talked of "requiring too many cookies" to make it work. I didn't
think there was such a thing during this the Girl Scout Cookie
    season!!!!!!! 8^{)} <--I'm growin' a go-T now too!!!

I'd talk a little bit about cookies, but:

    1) I don't know *tons* about them, and...

    2) I'd be accused of being a super-techno-weenie

Not to worry, we'd never accuse of being super-anything :*]

chips.

They ain' no other kind.....8^)

I'm pigging out on Do-Si-Dos from the girl Scouts. I bought seven
boxes from one of the system managers, trying to ensure I keep my
workstation up and running for another year.
