260.0. "Indianapolis Colts!" by WONDER::REILLY (Sean / Alpha Servers DTN:223-4375) Mon Jan 08 1996 15:48

    All right.

Somebody's got to give these guys some credit.

Here's a Patriots fan who hopes they break their 3-road-game-wins
to the Super Bowl by actually completing the task and taking it all.

The first part is easy. The weakling Steelers are not even close
to being the caliber of opponent that the Dolphins were. The Colts
just won two much harder games. If the refs stay even the least bit
ojective, Harbaugh will make O'Donnell look like a 5th stringer.

No bandwagon jumping, but I wish them well, since they get so little
    respect.

The game is in Pittsburgh, the scene of the Immaculate Reception.
There will be no objectivity. Is it mere coincidence that the
neutral-field-hapless Buffalo Bills never lose playoff games in the
confines of Rich Stadium? The Broncos in Pile High? Those most
passionate, rabid, and fanatical of football fans prey on the human
insecurities of the men in black and white. Perhaps the only
notable exception would be the Baltimore Browns who would always
find a way, against all odds and favoritism...

I am afraid that I must disagree. The Chiefs are a great team but
never perform well in the playoffs, So althougth it is a great Colt
victory I wouldn't go crazy yet. Also, Pittsburg is a weakling by no
means. I think you may be surprised to see Pittsburg pummel both the
    Colts as well as Harbaugh.
260.3Colts face reality this weekendTNPUBS::NAZZAROThe truth - Syracuse s*cks!Tue Jan 09 1996 17:547
Actually, the Chiefs were slightly better than mediocre and won this
season with mirrors as far as I could figure out. Colts have been
extremely fortunate in their first two playoff wins, and we all know
it's better to be lucky than good, but their luck runs out vs
    Pittsburgh this weekend. Steelers 27-6.

No, not really. Unlike the world series in which case I was a fan of the
winning team for about 5 years (and proved it to those noters who can read),
I'm not a fan of any of these teams. I have a lot of respect for what these
teams have accomplished but my team will be watching on TV from their living
rooms.

I am, however, looking forward to some exciting games. I wonder how long
this guy Crockett will go before he finds a modern day Alamo?

Born in a city playing for Indi
Flattest land in the land of the free
Accomplished squat before December 2 3
Became a playoff star, on network TV.

    Full back, Full back Crockett,
    King of the NFL.

Cute, George, but you lose a point by not working "Zack" into the dittie.

A long time ago, in another galaxy, far far away, I used to root fer the
Colts. When they lived in Baltimore and had Bert Jones and them guys,
they were a fun to root for.

BTW, cain you root fer a team that you're not a fan of which? I'm trying
to get all them rules down.

So - you admit that you've only proved it to a minority of SPROTSters!

If you pull it just right, and if it's cold enough outside, they do kind
of sound like jingle bells when you pull it...

That one expression has had me rolling. Never heard that one before!
