220.0. "How to buy NBA tickets" by GIDDAY::TAN () Mon Mar 27 1995 21:15

Hi,

I am a digit from Sydney, and I'll be taking my family for a holiday
in the west coast of USA; my teenage son, 16 years of age, is crazy about
basketball, and one of his lifelong ambition is to watch a live NBA match.

Due to the short duration that I have in LA, from 10 of April
to 13 of April(inclusive), I am worried that I might not have time to book the
tickets when I get there; I have heard however, that some DEC office
somewhere is able to book tickets for any events anywhere in USA, does
such an office exist? and if so, how do I go about contacting them regarding
purchasing advanced tickets? I really hate to disappoint my son!

Of course all this will be academic if there are no matches during
those 4 days, any body have the NBA schedule for that period?

	Thanks

/David

ps, I was going to try LA_STUFF conference, but
    it was never available!

220.1There may be a seat or two available for these gamesTNPUBS::NAZZAROThanks for a great year UMass!Tue Mar 28 1995 13:0110
    You are in luck!

Tuesday April 11, Sacramento plays at Los Angeles against the Clippers.
Two nights later, the Clippers host Denver. I'm sure there will be
seats available at the box office for those two contests. If you want
to call the box office, the Clippers' number is 213 748-0500.

The Lakers are out of town during that time.

Thanks very much for that information.

Also, do you know if there are any games on in San Francisco on
Tuesday the 17th and 18th of April?

	Thanks again,

	/Dave

Golden State (which plays in Oakland, across the bay from SF)
has a home game against Portland on April 18th.

You can get tickets to Warriors games over the phone from BASS Tickets
or by calling the Warrior ticket office. You can also get tickets from people
outside the arena before the game. I hesitate to call them scalpers because they
aren't asking for much over face value. The people start lining up on the exit ramp to
the Coliseum, and even right into the parking area. Tickets are no problem.

Hi,
Thanks to all and sundries, my son had a real good time at the
Oakland Coliseum watching the Golden State vs Portland game, apparently it
was a cliff hanger, Warriors won by 1 point!

For people with similar queries, I just rang the Warriors before I
depart for US, gave them my credit card number, and picked up the tickets from
the venue on the actual games night, they were good seats too!

	Again, thank you to all.

	Regards,
	Dave
