5656.41911A1 Mil MFG codes??TLE::RICEMon Mar 17 1997 20:4020
    I'll order the Hallock's book mentioned in .2.

    In the mean time, I wonder if anyone can tell me a source for
    Military Manufacturer codes used on 1911A1's. Are they listed in
    Hallocks along with the proof marks???

    In particular I'd
    like to know which manufacturer the goverment maps to what I
    believe is a mfg code of "7F067" on a 1911A1 slide. The slide
    has a NM part number on the left, and the 7F code on the right just
    below the ejection port.

    A similar pattern code ("digit-letter-3digits") and the letters "MFG."
    is on the magazine, which makes me
    think the "7F067" is also a code number for a different manufacturer.

    Any pointers appreciated.

    thanks,
    Chip
