I don't know if this is similar to note 2458 or not....Customer written load
program chugs along for a while, then hangs - no CPU, no IO. Hints anyone?

    Well, defining DBM$BIND_ABW_DISABLED and DBM$BIND_APF_DISABLED didn't
    make any difference. Program stalled again, SDA info below.
    
    Note that they have not yet nstalled the generally recommended VMS
    patches to 6.2. Could any of these make any difference?
    
    And a BUG is being logged, as they are getting anxious about this. If the
    VMS patches don't make any difference, this will probably get hot....
    so I've already asked for the reproducible case :)

    Below is the final resolution on this problem (thanks to Trevor Bowen
    for following up while Brenda is on vacation):
    
    The customer was has a new Alpha with a StorageWorks RAID-5 subsystem. 
    The  Digital OEM who installed the system, had not installed the
    StorageWorks  management software system.  They installed the
    Storagework management  software yesterday and it identified a bad disk
    in the RAID-5 set.  Once they  replaced the bad disk they where able to
    run their update program successfully  last night.  OpenVMS had not
    reported any problems with the bad disk.
