2129.0. "Seeking serger modifications" by YAZ67::BRZOZOWSKI (See it happen => Make it happen) Mon Feb 10 1997 11:33

    I'd love some intro-to-serger instructions.

My first project will be a polarfleece kids bathrobe. The pattern
directions are all appropriate for a thin fabric and a straight stitch.

How would I do things differently with a serger? I guess I'll know
more when I get the serger and video, but I'd live to hear your ideas.

For example: where is says "apply interfacing", if I was using a thin
material, I'd do iron-on for the shawl-style facing, then fold, press
and stitch the facing egde. How would I do it with polarfleece, sew-in
    interfacing and a serger?

When would you use your sewing machine for such a project and when
would you use your serger? How would hems be done?

I would appreciate anything you have to share!

    Thanks!

    Jane
