2907.0. ""if errorlevel vs copy"" by TLE::MCCLURE () Thu Apr 17 1997 22:02

I was hoping to write a .bat file which would copy a file and do
something intelligent if it failed. It appears to me that
"if errorlevel" is the mechanism meant for this, but it looks like
it doesn't work under 95.

    e.g. the sequence

	copy far out
	if errorlevel 1 echo lost

never echoes under 95 but under NT it will echo "lost"
if the file far doesn't exist or if out can't be copied over.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there another way to do this ??
