2898.0. "Creating Windows 95 Distribution Kit" by LOCH::SOJDA () Tue Apr 08 1997 18:16

I recently purchased a Venturis 575 LP for my brother during the last
MCS PC sale. This came with Windows 95 pre-installed on the hard disk.
It also came with 30 diskette labels, presumably for creating a backup
of the Windows 95 distribution kit on floppies, but no instructions on
    how to do this.

Is there a way to create a Windows 95 distribution kit on floppies from
the factory installed software and, if so, how do you do it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Larry

There may be a Digital Program Group off the start menu that contains
the shortcut to the kit build program.

At one stage I think PC's came with the option to install either
Windows 95 or windows for Workgroups and all this type of option was
supposed to appear the first time you turned an FIS'ed PC on.

Think it's time to do some exploring...

W95 was installed on my laptop, and when I powered up it took me
through an installation procedure [name/rank/ss#, etc] that also
included the option of writing W95 to disks.

Owen,

Check to see if there is a \DIGITAL directory. It should contain
a bunch of .img files, and maybe even a mkmaster.exe file. The
.exe should allow you to build the W95, special driver, etc. kits.

This is what was on my Dig pc a couple of years ago when I got it.

Whoops, sorry Owen, thought you wrote the base note.

Also, look for W_MASTER.EXE. mkmaster.exe is a dos type program.

sorry for the confusion.
