2873.0. "No dialing tones, DUN" by KYOSS1::MARKOWITZ () Sun Mar 23 1997 21:42

    I recently reinstalled win95, and now get no dialing tones from dial up
    networking. i get the tones when dialing without DUN, but not with it

    its a hinote laptop, without a sound card, so the tones should come
    from the pc speaker.

    any ideas

    Checking the obvious -- in DUN, check modem properties -- is
    "disable modem speaker" checked?

    I assume this would default to the same as is set in modem
    properties under control panel, but it's worth double-checking.

Hello,

In your control panel, select modem icon.
In the list, select your modem entry.
Click after on Properties.
Click after on the Advenced Options button and look if you have no
ATl0m0 additionnal command string ....

atl0m0 is used to turn off the modem speaker when dialling and while
the connection ...

Kind Regards,

Thierry
