2767.0. "Window-E key sequence acting funny" by STAR::DZIEDZIC (Tony Dziedzic - DTN 381-2438) Tue Jan 28 1997 10:53

    Is anyone aware of a registry setting which indicates to Win95 if
    the keyboard supports the "Windows" keys (the 3 extra keys added
    in the row by the spacebar)? I replaced an old 101-key keyboard
    with a Keytronic 104-key version, and the sequence Window-E is
    acting "funny".

    On my PC at work Window-E brings up Windows Explorer. On my home
    PC with the new keyboard Window-E brings up Windows Explorer, but
    it also displays the Start menu. (The Window key by itself brings
    up the Start menu on both systems.)

    Any clues? Add new hardware didn't have any effect.

    Uh ... keybounce?

    Just a guess.

    General comment on this topic: a "fun thing not to do with Windows
    95" caution: note that the E key in the Windows-E combination _will_
    autorepeat if held long enough. This can create a LOT of Explorer
    windows in a VERY short time...
