1320.0. "Lunch (continued from 228.596)" by MROA::SULLIVAN_S () Wed Mar 05 1997 12:45

    RE: 228.596 (Reg - Poster - Lunch)

Thought I would make this a new note. That way after
lunch has come and gone we can kill the note.

Lunch next week is fine with me Reg. There's not much left
to this week and I might not be here Friday anyways.
My schedule is open next week. Any day/time is fine with
me. Any particular place you would like to meet?
I can drive out to Hudson.
    Here's some choices:
    99's
    Jack Prinstieners
    Checkerboards
    Horseshoe Pub
    Piccadilli
    Any other ideas...

Sarah and Louisa, are you still joining us??? Anyone else
    want to join us?????????

Shannon,

any one of those places is fine with me (altho the nines is a little too deep
fryed for my liking).

anyone out there that would like to join in: respond here, email me, or email
shannon. we really should get a headcount, cause checkerboards might get a
little crowded for too many muscleheads at one time!

i'm thinking wed or thurs would be the best days, but am open to any other day
as well.

1320.2Wed or Thurs, A-OKHOTLNE::CORMIERWed Mar 05 1997 14:258
Wed. or Thurs. is fine with me!
Does anyone have any time constraints? 11:30 or 1:00 if we have
a crowd, otherwise it doesn't matter. I know of a terrific
Italian place in Marlboro that doesn't get too crowded at lunch
    (Ciao Napoli).
Sign in, or send mail! Let's get a crowd! Do we need a private banquet
room, in case anyone wants to do pose-downs? : )

I CAN'T MAKE THE LUNCH. BUT I DO HAVE A QUES. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO
GET TO FRAMINGHAM RD. IN MARLBORO? THE REASON I CHOOSE TO ASK YOU IS
BECAUSE OF THE RESTURANTS YOU LISTED. I AM LEFT TO ASSUME YOU KNOW THE
AREA WELL. ALSO I HEAR THIS ROAD IS NEAR THE PICCADILLY PUB. WHICH
IS ONE OF THE PLACES YOU MENTIONED. I WOULD LIKE DIRECTIONS FROM
THISDIGITAL SITE IF POSSIBLE. I DON'T KNOW THE AREA ALL THAT WELL AT

It's a little store-front place on Main St. in Marlboro, called Ciao
Napoli. It's in the section with the Tuxedo rental place. I believe it
has green and white striped awnings. A real gem!
Does italian qualify as 'foreign' food, Lou?

495 South to exit 24b(?). It should be the Marlboro Rt20
exit. When you get off the exit you'll go straight. This will
bring you right into Marlboro Main St. The italian place will be
on your left hand side. It's near Fleet Bank (right Sarah?)...

i'll know whom i'm saying hi to: Lou, Shan and Brain; well met all!

no, there wasn't a private banquet room so i wasn't able to do any posedowns,
bummer! and, yes, i managed to keep lunch off my lap. we talked briefly about
doing this again in the future; prolly take it closer to Littleton next time.
look forward to the next one!

love to expand this group. Once we get past the getting to know each

Right now I am a wee bit on the tight cash side. Sometime deeper into

I know that some of the comments in here about "I can't attend a lunch
because I need to lose a few lbs" is in jest.

But still I thought I'd take it upon myself to stress to any one who really
feels this way.

We are all in this file for one reason, we share a common interest. That
interest is weight lifting and working out, it does not matter how tall, short,
of if you need to loose or gain a few lbs. The only thing that matters is our
common interest.

Believe it or not, we did not spend allot of time talking about working out, we
spent our time getting to know on another on a more personal level.

I love learning from everyone in this file, and it help a great deal to put
a face with the name.

So, please - if anyone wants to attend the next lunch, please do so. I think
you will all find no is attending to judge anyone else, but to make new
friends.

If there is another lunch scheduled for the Littleton area
I could try to attend. There are 3 places near Littleton, actually
there in Acton. Scupper Jack's, Crossroads, Bickford's

I've been mostly a lurker here but saw note .35 and decided to
de-lurk myself 8^) since it seems some of you work close to me.
I work out of LKG2 in Littleton.

Lou, what places are there in Littleton that would be good
	for a lunch?

Is there a note here for a quick bio entry? I'll introduce myself

In addition to Scupper's, Crossroads, and Bickfords, there's also a
Chinese Place (Szuchuan Pavillion) and a deli, all in the same shopping
center on 119. Closer to LKG, there is the Yangtze River (head toward
Kimbal's), I've heard the Oaken Bucket is pretty good, and if you keep
going you'll hit the Metro Deli. And the Westford Regency at one time
had an all you can eat brunch.

Also, in all my time in this area, Until the other day I never knew
there was a restuarant right across the street from LKG. Can't recall
the name, but its right next to CVS. I'm not completely sure they do
lunch, but it might be a little too highbrow for a cheap bite, anyway.

    re Lou's response...
Well said, Lou. I don't think any of us are bound for the cover of
Muscle and Fitness Magazine. Yet : ) That's what brought us together -
that common bond that we all know how tough it is. But hey! A person
has to eat SOMETIME! That diet has to be broken SOMETIME! Why not take
that much-needed break from constant calorie watching (did I eat
enough? Did I eat too much?), fat content, protein content, and just
come and EAT! And next time maybe Louisa will get that lime in her
gingerale, instead of me getting it in my Diet Coke ; )
Oooo, the Westford Regency sounds like they would have a nice lunch??

The place across from LKG is "Kens". It's been a while

I think the Westford, Jerrys or Yangtzee(sp) would be best. I'd like

Ok I suggest we go Westford. The westford has an all you can eat and
one heck of a dessert buffett also if you like chocolate or
cheezecakes. It also has carving station, salad bar etc. The
resturants Kens across from LKG is blah blah, its mid priced and the
food really is so so. Yangtsee is good with an all you can eat buffet
too. Old Oaken is very nice, but pricey. Overlook is also nice but
pricey. So what is the date, lets make it a friday, things tend to be
    easier to do on fridays.

I vote for Westford or Yangtzee, either is ok with me.

Just to be sure we are all playing from the same field

The choices are Westford Regency, Yangstzee, Old Oaken Bucket,

This is truly just a fun get together. No-one really cares if
your ripped or just getting there, believe me, its just a fun way
of meeting folks who note about a topic we all like. So come on
down. If your shy and afraid to meet folks and don't want to
commit, I'll have an extra chair reserved just in case you can
show up. Trust me, I am extremely shy, I am so bad that when
the crew showed up at the last place they thought I worked there
and it took me a few minutes to get up enough nerve to ask if
they were the flexers! So if I can do it so can't you!

Sarah, May 14th is sited by many renowned experts on Hale Bopp, that on
May 14th the tail of this comet will shoot out a magnetic residue that
makes ice cream fat free only from the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM. This
amazing phenomenon, can be readily tested at Kimballs.

1320.130UpdatePASTA::PIERCEThe Truth is Out ThereWed May 14 1997 18:1133

It was a great day to in a rag top (as George says). I want to say I'm
sorry in here to Nat. I didn't see his note in time, so I didn't know
he was going to come with us in the rag top. I was waiting (and
waiting) for Reg to come outside - when I saw this person looking like
he was looking for someone - I thought it might be Nat, but I was not
sure and I thought I stuck out like a sore thumb in my rag top w/ my
big red sun glasses and hat on, but I guess I dont stick out as much as
    I thought it did :-)

Well, but the time I was getting enought nerve to approach this person,
he left - and come to find out - IT WAS NAT!

Nat made it, and we all got to meet him and get to know more about him.
I must say Nat is a nice addition to the allready super people I've
    meet in here!!!

Next time Nat, I'll know who you are and we can all ride together.

    ====

Ice Cream! The Ice Cream was super! Shannon, Bri and Nat had a small
Sunday, I had a small cone but, Reg put us all to shame with a Kimballs
Special! and yes,he ate the whole thing!!

Sorry, Sarah, Geroge, Wayne and the rest of you could not attend - I
hope next time more will be able to make it.

Shannon took Bri over to show him where she "put her bike down" - yes
she did it right in the Kimballs parking lot - guess she had that
Special on her mind at the time. :-)

I'll be looking forward to a ride in the rag top. The mustang was the
envy of almost every person waiting in line. I missed the car in the
HLO lot, but it was hard to miss at Kimballs.

And I definately plan on making it to a few more of these. After all,
there aren't many times you'll hear "Doctor, spank me." at lunch.

It was nice meeting you the other day Nat. Glad you could make
it. Hopefully we can get others to join us as our luncheons
continue. It's always nice to attach a face with a name.
(it's kinda like attaching a name with a person, instead of
just hearing them referred to as "the wife" "the kids", ect...) :)

For those of you that couldn't make it, we'll be planning on
having lunch again. Hope more of you can make it.
Maybe next time could have lunch at a restaurant with outdoor

So Sarah, is it true that the real reason you couldn't come

    Shan,
Well, my summer car has T-tops, my regular commuter car has a sun/moon
roof, and they are usually open. You've seen my hair - does it look
    like I fuss over it?
I would have loved a ride in the 'stang. Would have loved DRIVING it,
as a matter of fact, if I could have pried Louisa's hands off the
steering wheel. But she looked like she was having way too much fun
tooling around the parking lot, so I'm sure she would not have given up
the reins (oh, what a BAD pun!).
More than that, however, I missed having ice cream with all of you guys

If it's the place I'm thinking of, it's off of Flannagan road in
Harvard and it's called bowers springs - thats a nice place to.

I can't do a weekend - Im allways way to busy and my weekends are way
to short as it is. I have a horse show just about every weekend, and
if I don't I'm still out on a 15-20 mi trail ride - or training the new

can't do weekends either, I was suggesting we do it during the week,
sort of a picnic lunch instead of going to a resturant.

Do you folks feel like doing this or going to say Rocco's? Rocco's
used to be someother name resturant right? And it overlooks some
reseviour just outside the MRO facility right?

Ok Sue and Sarah, you have to identify one as your preference otherwise
we still won't have a site to go to.

Me I vote Kimballs, I say, you can never have too much icecream. By
the way icecream eaten while in the context of a club meeting does not
count. You see icecream consumed during the business day for business
reasons are not personal intake but considered professional
obligations. Since we are meeting as an informal club we are required
to display a sincere and comrade like appearence to our fellow body
builders. In order not to appear pompous or perfect, we eat icecream
to make our fellow bodybuilders feel comforatable. Therefore all club
functions are deductable from you diet as any non-profitable donation
    is from your taxes.
