| Saw him at Harpers Ferry Saturday night - he was good. Walk That Walk
opened for him and while they were playing, TE was walking around -
looked kinda nervous like he wasn't sure he belonged there. On stage,
he played great and the nervous look eventually left his face. (Except
when the guy standing next to me started howling like a mad-man... both
TE and the base guy kept looking over).
Anyway, he was good. Worth the trip in.

Another Tinsley fan! I haven't had the opportunity to see him
lately, but have twice caught him at Tres Hombres in Woodland
Park....kind of a small Mexican food eatery that has bands on
the weekends. Before the show, he was prowling the club...almost
nervously as you had pointed out. I talked with him awhile at
the bar and he signed my liner from the "Trouble Time" CD. Once
onstage, he was a dynamo, as expected. Second time he actually
remembered me (I'm kinda hard to miss) and I spent time talking
with both he and James Ferguson (bass player) between sets. They
were raggin' on Tinsley because he had run over something with
the van and tore the bottom off it, leaving them stranded in
Woodland Park....all in good fun, of course, but I guess he did
it in pretty good.
Last release of his I got was "Storm Warning"....some good stuff,
some so-so. I like the earlier albums, particularly "Georgia
Blue" and I've always felt that "Trouble Time" came closest to
capturing the excitement of their live shows. Gotta pay more
attention to who's playing around town so I can make a point to
see Tinsley Ellis again!
