1041.0. "Iomega Zip dirve" by NYOSS1::BUONOMO (Show me the MONKEY) Fri May 02 1997 17:12

    Hi,

Has anyone had any luck getting a parallel port zip drive to
    work under NT/Alpha ??

I downloaded the Iomega 1.41 NT drivers but the sys file attempts
to load before FX!32 is up and running so it barfs.

    Any Ideas ??
    Lou

I thought I've read many times in the FX32 conference that X86
drivers are not supported via FX!32.

Re .0, only the SCSI version of the Jaz/Zip drives work and are
supported on Alpha NT. Iomega does not currently plan to make it work
or support the parallel version of these drives on Alpha NT.

    desktop :(

    Thanks,

Want to trade (systems that is...)? My SCSI SyQuest EZ drive should
    work fine on Alpha. (grins)

Sorry Bill I had to sell my (VMS) soul to bet this box... I'll live
    without it.

I found an old 386 in the lab and loaded win95 on it
(yes it was painful)... I put the parallel port
drive on it, along with a network card and share it
under a name... connect to it from the Alpha box and
it allows me to put files to the disk...

slow? not all that bad... a pain? yes... but at least
I can move files.
