988.0. "An advfs puzzle" by USCTR1::ASCHER (Dave Ascher) Tue Jan 28 1997 00:08

    Situation is as follows:

domain XYZ consists of 1 volume - /dev/rz50c... containing
    one file set "xyzfs".
The domain#fileset is mounted to /xyz

The only data in the file system are pre-allocated oracle database
    files.

We add a second volume to the domain - /dev/rz51c
we create a clone fileset "clone_xyz".

We know that no additional storage is allocated to the original
    file set...

We reboot the system and lose the disk /dev/rz51c.

At this point we cannot mount the file system since its domain
is incomplete. We cannot remove the second volume from the
domain. We cannot seem to do anything to recover the data which
we know is on the first (original) volume.

    What are we missing?

    thanks,

    d
