    Hi,

Rode across to Cornwall(UK) from home on Saturday , 150 mile round
trip. Great to get a decent trip in, shame about the 20 miles of fog
each way over Dartmoor, I hate that stuff ! Roads pretty damp, and
very slippery, almost every farmer in Devon seems to have been dropping
mud and similar substances all over the road, plus a nice patch of
diesel 20 yards after leaving on my way back saw me sliding but luckily
I stayed upright, don't know how I didn't see it as I'm normally OK
at spotting the stuff. Roll on dry roads and spring !

    Hello ALL,
Been doing alot of ridin' since Christmas,..my brother got
his hew harlee. He has been waitin' for the Heritage for over
a year, he has been riding on that.. SHAKER, called a Dyna-Wide Glide.
I told him, he now has a cruiser,...a BIG TWIN.
He has been "dragging" me out every chance he can, and the weather has
been great.!!! We went out New Year's Day..!!!!

Excuse me but a Dyna WideGlide is a big twin.... It also has a rubber
mounted engine and is quite smooth. Softails still use solid engine
mounts and have noticeably more vibration. Are you sure he didn't have
    a Sportster?

The motor is the same,...but, talk to someone who OWNS/RIDES one,
and *if*, they tell you the truth!!, they will say, it shakes
when you first start it, AND, when you hit about 60 mph. I know 3
different owners, they all say the same. You can really feel it when
you are on the back. That is the only reason that my sister-in-law
put her "stamp of approval" on the new Heritage..!!!

PS> don't always buy the "hype"....OH, IT IS RUBBER MOUNTED, GOTTA BE
    							SMOOTHER

Well I'm a bit surprised as I own an 89' Lowrider with the old style
rubber-mount and I've ridden a Softail and a Sportster and my bike is
smoother than both. yes, I realize mines not a Dyna I just have a very
hard time with a sold mount engine being smoother. No big deal. Nothing
    to argue about.

Well it isn't the very first of the year, but it is the first
with "the group". The ladies went for a little run this weekend.
Covered a couple of hundred miles, one of the gals on the ride
had never rode in the mts. before.

    This was fun...... and interesting.

After unsuccessful attempts to rent a bike in Capetown and Victoria
Falls, I finally got to ride a bike this year.... my own! Home for the
weekend, it was cold but dry. Hooked up the charger overnight, roll her
out, insert key, hit that button and YES YES YES. Checked the vitals,
(lights, brake pads, tyre pressure) and we're off on Thunder Road
again.... Lot's of bikes out, this promises to be a good year (Metzeler
    actually...).

First ride this weekend since rebuilding the top end of my '52 Pan!
Started right up (well, within 5 kicks anyway). No oil leaks. (I
used Hylomar on the cylinder bases and rocker covers). Ran great!
Had to try hard to remember I'm breaking it in. I think changing
to hardened valve seats for unleaded, makes the engine sound a bit
more metallic. Went to the swap-meet/show in Colo. Springs too.
Good show, but only 3 Panheads, and 2 knuckles to be seen. So, all
    in all a great weekend.

Seen a lot of bikes out this weekend. Saturday I drove around town
drove pass the swap meet but I didn't stop.

Sunday we drove to Canyon City then down to Wetmore and then back
through Peublo. It wasn't my first ride of the season since I ride
back and forth to work when the weather permits. The weather was great
mid 60s and lots of sun. I'm ready for some warm weather.

Took the bike in to work this morning (Hudson - Marlboro).
First ride "alone". Considering I just learned how
to ride this past fall, and with the exception of one 50 mile
ride, the rest have only been around the block or practicing
in a parking lot. I was pretty happy with myself getting here.
Now I just got to get it home.... :)
So if anyone is here at MRO, take a look out the window by
the dcu machine and you'll see my bike.

Today should be a great day for riding expierence...

Did you bring your rain gear?

Nope, no rain gear! Figure if it starts raining I'll call
my husband and have him come and take the bike home... ;^)
    (just kidding)...
I'm outta here at 4:30,,, hopefully it won't start before then...
Actually, hopefully it won't start at all.

Might as well get it over with... :-)

The sunny day's are so much better after you've ridden thru a
     monsoon or two....

Seems you "never" forget the drenchings...!

After six month's and some physical therapy, I rode this weekend for
the first time since the accident.

Not far and not fast, but it was good. If the cold front moves on I
    plan on commuting this week.

My baby has a new coat of paint, and it's awesome in the sun! :-)
Now I need to name it, hummmm........

Take care out there, and here's wishing for a great season!

    Congratulations Mary!

It's a mental barrier getting past the feeling fragile and
back on the 'iron horse'...way to go!

What color's your baby now? And what IS it? Maybe there's a clue for
a name in there somewhere... like I got an old bomb of a Dodge Dart 4 dr.
CHEAP for a friend of mine who just needed WHEELS desperately... it was
waaaayy big for her and was painted gray... we named it "Enola Gray"
(Hint: a famous B-29 bomber from WWII in the Smithsonian is named
    "Enola Gay").

Anyway, good to hear you're back up.
